Finished the game in under 5.5hrs, actual playtime of 4.8hrs afaik. not my first playthru, completed it before on another device. What a game, i forgot how good this was
I have a crappy PC, but if you set everything to low and the resolution to 800x600, you can easily get 60 fps. The game is always interesting because searching for hiding places and keys is part of it. I love it, and the adrenaline rush of each fight is incredible. You will suffer a lot at the beginning because it's difficult (I play with a keyboard and mouse), but once you get used to it, you'll have a great time playing. 100% recommended if you love martial arts.
At first, I actually really enjoyed the game. Throwing punches, learning techniques, and mastering the parrying/avoiding system. The game has a unique style and kicking ass can be really satisfying. Unfortunately, there are too many things that really annoy the sh*t out of me, which completely destroyed all the fun I had. 1. This game is about precision, timing, and technique. Why the hell can enemies with a "normal" physique (huge enemies or bosses are "stronger", so okaaay I guess) just punch through my punches, but I cannot? How is this fair or "technique"? It doesn't make sense and is really annoying. Like, why am I even mastering timing & precision when being quicker is punished by the game ignoring your punches? 2. Like others have mentioned, the camera angle can sometimes suck ass, since you cannot actually see anything but your own back. I mean, come on. Someone must have tested this game at some point. Are you telling me nobody was annoyed by not seeing sh*t? 3. Also, as some others have mentioned, some doors shut you out of other possible paths or even unlockables, with no way of returning and no warning. This makes it hard to enjoy exploring the map without FOMO. 4. Maybe it's just me or a skill issue, but sometimes combos just don't register? I point perfectly towards an enemy and try to throw an item, and with the exact same gesture, 2/3 of the time the character just drops the weapon instead of throwing it. Also, what really annoys me is requiring a perfect forward-backward joystick movement to execute important combos. Why not just a combo with "hold X" or something like that to push people back? Because of the difficult angles, it's sometimes really ambiguous to find a perfect "forward" and "backward" with a joystick. But well, skill issue I guess. Finally, the game crashed mid-fight. Maybe this was just bad luck, but it still sucks. All in all, I was too annoyed to fully enjoy the game, unfortunately, although I really love challenging games with a learning curve. Maybe I will try again sometime.
Fun game, but the constant stuttering, as other people have already mentioned, ruins the game dramatically; therefore, once this problem is fixed, we can talk about the positive review later.
