Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Aug 27 → 0.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I'll go against the grain and say this is a fine way to play Shock Troopers: 2nd Squad. I'm iffy about the Dotemu ports, but this one feels pretty accurate to the arcade version of this game with the slowdown. It's hard not to recommend this game at a deep discount. It is the easiest way to play with a friend.

o jogo e legal mas o grafico infelizmente e muito antigo, infelizmente aqui na minha tela ficou bem ruim a imagem, podiam polir o jogo e fazer uma versao em HD ja estaria otimo.
SHOCK TROOPERS 2nd Squad is a fast and unapologetically arcade-focused top-down shooter that captures the frantic spirit of the Neo Geo era. Instead of surrounding its action with complicated progression systems or lengthy storytelling, it sends players directly into hostile territory and expects them to keep moving, firing, dodging, and reacting to increasingly crowded battlefields. Developed by SNK CORPORATION and Dotemu and published by SNK CORPORATION, this PC edition preserves the fundamentals of the classic arcade release while introducing features that make repeated runs and multiplayer sessions more convenient. The story provides a simple justification for the destruction. A powerful organization has created a dangerous global situation, and a group of mercenaries is sent into action to stop the threat. Four playable characters are available, allowing players to select a preferred fighter before heading into combat. Narrative development remains deliberately minimal because the game is much more interested in maintaining momentum than presenting lengthy dialogue or elaborate character arcs. Stages rapidly move from one firefight to another, making the experience especially suitable for players who enjoy straightforward arcade action. Combat revolves around shooting enemies from an overhead perspective while constantly adjusting position to avoid incoming attacks. Enemy troops can approach from several directions, while larger machines and heavily armed opponents gradually increase the pressure. The controls are easy to understand, but surviving efficiently requires considerably more attention than the simple mechanics initially suggest. Players need to recognize enemy patterns, anticipate dangerous projectiles, make intelligent use of available space, and avoid becoming trapped when multiple threats occupy the screen. Weapons and pickups add variety to the basic gunplay, while vehicles provide some of the game's most entertaining changes of pace. Taking control of heavier equipment makes certain sections feel more destructive and helps separate the stages from one another. Branching routes are another valuable feature because they give players reasons to revisit the campaign rather than treating completion as the end of the experience. Different paths can change portions of a run, encouraging experimentation and helping compensate for the relatively compact structure expected from an arcade shooter. Its visual presentation has aged, but the colorful sprite work remains full of personality. Characters, military vehicles, enemy soldiers, explosions, projectiles, and environmental details combine to create battlefields that frequently become wonderfully chaotic. The graphics have a distinctive handcrafted quality associated with classic 2D arcade games. Animation is not exceptionally smooth by modern standards, yet attacks generally provide clear feedback, and destroying groups of enemies remains satisfying. The amount of activity can occasionally make the screen visually crowded, but that intensity is also part of the appeal. Sound design follows a similarly energetic direction. Gunfire, explosions, machinery, and other effects reinforce the constant combat, while the soundtrack keeps the action moving at an appropriate pace. Nothing about the presentation attempts subtle realism. The objective is to create the sensation of an exaggerated arcade battlefield, and the audiovisual design succeeds at supporting that atmosphere. Cooperative multiplayer significantly improves the experience for players who enjoy arcade games socially. Two players can fight through the action together, producing even more hectic encounters as both characters fill the screen with gunfire. Online cooperative functionality is especially useful for a PC conversion of an arcade title originally built around shared play. Steam features such as achievements and leaderboards also complement the game's replay-driven structure. Leaderboards are particularly appropriate because improving scores and mastering stages are major reasons to continue playing after reaching the ending. The game's biggest limitation is that its structure remains firmly rooted in arcade conventions. Players expecting a lengthy campaign, extensive character progression, deep equipment customization, or substantial narrative content may find the experience relatively thin. Much of its lasting value depends upon replaying missions, improving scores, experimenting with different characters, exploring alternate routes, and playing cooperatively. Anyone who prefers completing a game once and immediately moving on may therefore get considerably less mileage from it. The PC package is also more functional than lavish. It provides useful configuration options and modern conveniences, but it should not be mistaken for an elaborate historical collection or a complete remake. The underlying game remains visibly and mechanically connected to its original era. That preservation is appealing for arcade enthusiasts, although players accustomed exclusively to contemporary shooters may need to adjust to its compact design, repetition, and old-fashioned difficulty philosophy. Steam Deck compatibility is somewhat less straightforward than with newer games carrying full handheld optimization. The game does not have an official Steam Deck Verified or Playable rating from Valve, so it should be considered officially unrated rather than guaranteed for the handheld. Its relatively modest technical demands and straightforward 2D arcade design make it the kind of title that may be usable through SteamOS and Proton, but players should not interpret that as official compatibility certification. Controller-oriented gameplay is naturally well suited to a handheld format, although individual configuration or compatibility differences may occur. SHOCK TROOPERS 2nd Squad ultimately succeeds because it embraces immediacy. The game wants players shooting within moments and rarely allows the pace to collapse afterward. Four characters, heavy weapons, vehicles, alternate routes, cooperative action, achievements, and score chasing provide enough variety to make repeated runs worthwhile for fans of traditional arcade design. Its limited campaign scope and modest PC presentation prevent it from feeling essential to everyone, but the core shooting remains entertaining when approached with the right expectations. As a piece of classic arcade action, it offers an enjoyable combination of colorful sprite work, aggressive enemy encounters, explosive combat, and cooperative chaos. It is most easily recommended to Neo Geo enthusiasts, score chasers, retro shooter fans, and players who appreciate games designed to be mastered through repeated attempts rather than consumed through a single lengthy campaign. Rating: 7/10
