Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.29/day in the week to Aug 18 → 2.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One marks an ambitious and refreshing new beginning for Frogwares’ long-running detective series, offering both longtime fans and newcomers a fresh take on the iconic detective’s early days. Released in 2021, this installment serves as a narrative prequel, exploring a young Sherlock’s formative years, his complex relationship with his mother, and the roots of his legendary investigative prowess. Departing from the more linear, episodic structure of previous entries, Chapter One embraces an open-world format set on the fictional Mediterranean island of Cordona, providing a vibrant, sun-soaked backdrop that stands in stark contrast to the dark, foggy streets of Victorian London that have traditionally defined Holmes’s world. The game’s story centers on Sherlock’s return to Cordona after years away, prompted by news of his mother’s mysterious death. As he delves into the circumstances surrounding her demise, he begins to unravel a web of secrets and conspiracies that touch on the island’s politics, local gangs, and his own fractured past. This personal quest is enriched by interactions with a variety of characters, each with their own motives and backgrounds, allowing the game to explore themes of family, trust, and identity. Unlike many detective games that rely heavily on scripted narrative beats, Chapter One encourages players to approach investigations with a sense of curiosity and freedom, often allowing multiple ways to uncover clues and solve puzzles. Gameplay in Sherlock Holmes Chapter One successfully blends classic detective work with open-world exploration. Players traverse Cordona’s diverse environments—from bustling markets and serene beaches to shadowy docks and crumbling ruins—using Sherlock’s keen observational skills to investigate crime scenes, interview witnesses, and gather evidence. The game’s deduction system has been expanded and refined, featuring a “deduction board” where players piece together clues to form logical conclusions. This mechanic remains the core of the experience, demanding careful attention to detail and critical thinking rather than rote puzzle-solving. The freedom to approach cases in multiple ways, whether through stealth, dialogue, or clever use of gadgets, further adds to the game’s replayability and depth. Visually, Chapter One is a significant step forward for the series. The Mediterranean island setting allows for a bright, colorful palette rarely seen in detective games, breaking away from the grimy Victorian aesthetic. The environments are richly detailed and varied, with dynamic weather and day-night cycles enhancing immersion. Character models and animations have improved considerably, contributing to more believable interactions and emotional moments. Sherlock himself is portrayed as a younger, more emotionally vulnerable figure than the usual stoic genius, making his journey feel personal and grounded. The voice acting supports this fresh characterization well, with a nuanced performance that captures both Sherlock’s brilliance and his occasional moments of insecurity. Sound design and music complement the atmosphere expertly. The ambient sounds of the island—the chatter of locals, the crashing of waves, the rustling of palm trees—create a lived-in world that feels organic and alive. The soundtrack blends subtle Mediterranean motifs with suspenseful undertones, effectively setting the mood without overwhelming the player. The game also makes good use of audio cues during investigations, helping players detect subtle environmental hints that might otherwise go unnoticed. While the open-world approach breathes new life into the series, it occasionally leads to pacing issues. Some investigations can feel drawn out, with side activities and exploration sometimes overshadowing the central narrative. A few puzzles can be frustratingly obtuse or overly reliant on trial and error, which may interrupt the otherwise smooth investigative flow. Additionally, the game’s handling of player freedom sometimes results in missed clues or narrative threads, which can lead to confusion or incomplete storylines if players aren’t thorough. However, these are relatively minor blemishes in an otherwise engaging experience. Another notable aspect of Chapter One is its willingness to experiment with new gameplay elements. Sherlock’s enhanced parkour skills allow for freer movement across the island’s varied terrain, adding a sense of agility and physicality to the character. Stealth mechanics and social interactions have been expanded, offering players different tools and approaches for gathering information or avoiding trouble. These features blend well with the core detective gameplay, reinforcing the feeling that Sherlock is still honing his methods and abilities in this earlier stage of his life. Ultimately, Sherlock Holmes Chapter One stands out as a bold reinvention that respects the spirit of its source material while pushing the series into new territory. Its rich storytelling, open-ended investigation system, and immersive world make it a compelling journey into the origins of one of literature’s greatest minds. While not without some rough edges, the game offers a deep, rewarding detective experience that balances intellectual challenge with emotional depth. For those who appreciate mysteries filled with nuance and complexity, or for fans eager to explore a more humanized Sherlock, Chapter One offers a fresh and memorable case to unravel. Rating: 7/10
This chapter is more like an origin story, revealing the origins of Sherlock. The cases are intriguing and fun to solve, on the other hand, the open-world aspect IMHO did not add much if anything. The city is beautiful, but I simply had no reason to explore, and even after beating the main story and side quests, there were still places on the map that I had never seen. And lastly, the gunfight arenas or whatever it is, this just does not fit in the game. It adds nothing to the game and feels like a cheap shooter with slo-mo mechanics. Once you understand the deductions and other detective mechanics, it's way more fun and less of a random guess.
