Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.29/day in the week to Aug 18 → 2.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I not good at doing reviews and generally only do them if I really really love a game. With that being said, I am only doing it for this game because in order to thumbs down this game, steam insists I review it. I find it feels clunky to me, the story feels forced, and it's UI sucks. I do not like having to pin every thing in order to come across the evidence I already came across just because I paid attention. Yet it wouldn't let me interact with said evidence unless I remembered to pin some stupid bullsh*t. I have adhd, and I am never going to remember to pin all that crap. The amount of frustration this game caused me in just three hours because of that pinning crap is not worth it. I wish I had played it when I first bought it, because I would have gotten a refund. I really enjoyed the previous sherlock games, too; yet I have been unpleasantly surprised at how much I do not enjoy this one. I have tried two separate times to like it, but I hate it. Three hours in, and I wish I could get a refund for it. I also bought The Awakened at the same time I got this one. I bet I will hate that one, too. I have got to stop buying games during sales and than not playing them for a couple years. Really screwed my own self over this time.

This is a very niche game for people who could enjoy it, even for me--I could see how it could be enjoyable to some people, but no one I know comes to mind. And this is saying something because it is usually very easy for me to feel positive about most games. Some of the many glaring issues (for my playstyle): - Open-ended storylines are poor choice for crime/mystery solver puzzle game: In a game about forensic sciences, the art of deduction, and freaking Sherlock Holmes, there needs to be solid endings and conclusions. I understand what the developers were trying to accomplish with making people feel like they could always make of the world what they want, but imo, when all conclusions are equal, no conclusion matters. It takes the joy out of mystery games when there's no real solution to discover. - Proximity to locations appearing first time/on compass is nonexistent at times: Struggled to find locations on the huge, mazelike map, in particular due to the icons not appearing until you were almost on top of them. And there's a million alleyways that these things could be in. FORCED to resort to online maps and guides several times to find the locations I needed to be at or go to, just to spare my own sanity. - Miniscule interaction prompts make locating things all the more difficult: The dots that indicate an interaction is possible are very small, and require the player to be VERY close to the object already to even appear. Like, to the point where you're already looking at the object, then what's the point of seeing the prompt. The colors of the prompts, white and gold, also very frequently blend into the surroundings, or are capable of being obscured by just a slightly wrong angle or the smallest object in the way, making even the assist button useless at times. - Side quests are worse than chores: For your own sanity, PLEASE look up the treasure hunts, stories of Cordona, and the locations of the bandit lairs, I BEG YOU. They are NOT worth your time and effort scouring an entire city hoping you'll pass close enough to start them. Game felt like a chore by the end just because I needed to complete it for myself and get out. Definitely not worth the full price.
When I play this game I feel like I am missing pieces of the dialogue or something. It feels really disjointed and it breaks the immersion. For example: at one point you have to eavesdrop on the maids and you hear one line out loud, which just repeats until you activate the listening/eavesdrop mode. I expected to listen to their conversation then pick out the relevant info but instead there is no audible speech, just some, seemingly random, bits of information (3-4 words with little to no context) appear on the screen briefly and you have to decide in that moment if the info is relevant or not. This is timed and when you pick the "wrong" info it seems to take away some of the remaining time. If you run out of time you have to start all over. I basically had to randomly guess until I figured out which set of words were supposed to be relevant. Again, no context. It wasn't like a paragraph of text and you pick out the few relevant words, it was JUST the few "relevant" words floating on the screen. It didn't make sense and, again, took me completely out o the immersion of the game. I don't know if this is by design or i there was a bug in my game, but it was too frustrating to continue playing. I've played many Holmes games before and this is the only one that was like this.
[5/10]

I don't like this Holmes. I don't like his imaginary friend. I don't like the combat. I don't like how the investigation is working. Worst Sherlock Holmes game I have every played.
I don't think I can recommend this one unless you are a BIG fan of semi-open world and Sherlock Holmes. Or if you are like me and want to complete a game 100%. Although the city and the graphics are pretty in this new environment, away from the greys of London, it is a toned down boring semi open-world. It is filled with NPCs, yet it feels so empty and void of life. It's a terrible approach to make you run around the whole town to find the task for your case instead or curating more meaningful interaction with characters or the environments. It feels like an modern Ubisoft game (in the bad term). Checkpoint for teleportation, dumb down detective gameplay, no more dialogue chatlogs, creating cases that feel like radiant quests, cosmetic microtransactions, no attachments for the characters or the story (except maybe the twist that you can see miles away), etc. It just feels wrong for this franchise that did progressively well until The Devil's Daughter. At worst: it's a meh game. The remake/reboot of Awakened (2023) is similar in some aspects of the gameplay, but it is way better if you want to play a modern Holmes with simpler puzzle and beautiful landscapes.
