About
Shape Shifter: Formations is an action twin-stick shooter with rogue-lite elements, where you must destroy hordes of geometric enemies alone or with a friend. Select your ship and combine a large variety of weapons, abilities and infinitely stacking upgrades to craft your own unique build.
Choose from a wide variety of ships each with their own unique active and passive abilities, ranging from shocking tesla towers and a burning laser, to clones that mirror your attacks or the ability to slow time around you. Pick the ship the suits your play style and outfit it with a weapon of your choice. Every ship and weapon has it's own unique skill tree, allowing you to alter and improve the way they play via changing abilities/passives and gaining new ones.
Survive against swarms of enemies before fighting challenging bullet-hell bosses each with their own unique attacks and abilities. Customize your own difficulty with many modifiers from electrifying the walls, to giving enemies elemental infusions. Higher difficulties can unlock prime boss variants for an even greater challenge and further rewards.
Gain experience by killing enemies to improve your ship with infinitely stacking upgrades that allow you to tailor your build as you play. Inflict a barrage of status effects on your enemies, or summon a swarm of constructs with their own weaponry. Extensive meta-progression between runs allows you to gain permanent upgrades, new game mechanics, and tons of new ships, weapons, and upgrades for future runs.
Play solo or in 2 player local co-op.

All the other bullet hell/heaven horde survival games don't scratch that itch anymore as much as this one does

A really good game, I feel like it's not as easy as in other roguelike to have a broken build going, meaning there's more room for skill. At the same time, it's certainly possible to get some really satisfying combos going. In short, a well balanced game worth buying if you're into the genre !
I am going to say this in all caps so the people in the back can hear it...... THIS GAME IN PHENOMENAL IN VR WITH THE UEVR MOD That is all.
Fun and engaging gameplay loop, will keep an eye on updates for this one. Must try.
Game Good
along with tower of babel and death must die, my fav survivorslike. i played the first 30 hours or so without realizing there are upgrade trees for each ship and weapon which add another significant layer of depth, and still would have give it a 10/10 had i never discovered that aspect. an embarrassment of riches that may not at first be apparent but so much to unlock.
Incredible minimalist survivor-like/ bullet heaven. Beautiful, easy to get into and extremely satisfying to explore and hopefully master.
A fun retro game, it is what it looks like and more.
