About
Shadow Warrior 2 is the stunning evolution of Flying Wild Hog’s offbeat first-person shooter following the further misadventures of former corporate shogun Lo Wang. Now surviving as a reclusive mercenary on the edge of a corrupted world, the formidable warrior must again wield a devastating combination of guns, blades, magic and wit to strike down the demonic legions overwhelming the world. Battle alongside allies online in four-player co-op or go it alone in spectacular procedurally-generated landscapes to complete daring missions and collect powerful new weapons, armor, and arcane relics of legend.
Five years have passed since Lo Wang shattered the alliance between his deceitful former boss and the ancient gods of the shadow realm. Despite noble intentions, Lo Wang’s efforts to annihilate the darkness corrupted the world, creating a strange and savage new order where humans and demons live side by side.
The once feared warrior now lives in the shifting wildlands outside the reach of his enemies and the neon glow of Zilla’s cybernetic metropolis, scratching out a meager existence as a hired sword for the local Yakuza clans. When a simple mission goes wrong, Lo Wang is drawn into a volatile conflict between a brilliant young scientist, his nemesis Orochi Zilla, and the demonic forces that have become unsettled in our world. The sharp-tongued hero must once again wield lethal blades, staggering firepower, and archaic magic to purge the world of evil.
Blades and Bullets: Lo Wang delivers his own brand full throttle brutality with an expanded array of over 70 lethal blades and explosive firearms to overcome the demonic opposition. Become a whirlwind of steel and blood with razor sharp katana, short swords, crescent blades, and hand claws or unleash a hellish symphony of ornate firearms to decimate your enemies.
Four Player Co-Op: Battle through the expansive campaign alone or team up as a four-player typhoon of destruction online in campaign co-op mode. Tackle challenging primary missions or thrilling side quests while maintaining your own ninja style with customizable armor, items, and valuable loot from your triumphs.
Procedural Environments: The breach between the human and demon realms created an interdimensional hernia resulting in constant shifts to the world of Shadow Warrior 2. Procedurally generated landscapes and paths bring new twists and turns to once familiar terrain and routine missions.
Brutal Damage System: Choose your weapon based on the situation at hand and then dismantle everything that stands in your path with an advanced gore system. Use precision blade strikes to separate limbs and heads or switch to heavy ordinance and blow a hole right through colossal beasts.
Custom Upgrade System: Upgrade weapons in your arsenal with up to three stones at once to improve performance or augment them with devastating elemental effects. Collect karma, amulets, and armor to enhance Lo Wang’s power and shift his death-dealing artistry into overdrive.
The Shadow Warrior series started back in the 90s with Shadow Warrior Classic that was remastered and released on Steam by Devolver Digital and 3D Realms as Shadow Warrior Classic Redux. Then in 2013, Flying Wild Hog and Devolver Digital released the bold reimagining of the legend of Lo Wang with the modern classic Shadow Warrior.

TL;DR: It feels like the devs were told by the effective managers that the sequel had to match the modern gamedev standards (open world, RPG elements, rogueli(t/k)e). Well, none of these "innovations" actually worked out. Probably due to the limited budget and because only a handful of games really need to be open world. Moreover, if you're male, prepare to be humiliated by every woman in this game in every other dialogue. If you're a Shadow Warrior fan and still want to buy SW2 solely for its gameplay, I recommend skipping all the dialogues/cutscenes and investing your skill points into Chi Regen, Chi Amount, and Health Amount so that you can speed-run the boring sections where engaging in combat is optional. Also, better try the "demo version" first before actually paying for this game, if you know what I mean. Pros: + The design and lighting. They look great. At the same time, I feel like they lost their charm that was in the first game; nevertheless, I took a lot of screenshots. + Guns have impact. That said, I didn't use my katana most of the time. But is it even Shadow Warrior without the katana? To each their own. + Gun animations. Springchester and The Triad are pure aesthetic pleasure. Especially watching the badass Springchester animations during
the final boss fight
while listening to
Stan Bush's Warrior
. + The flow. This feeling when you "run, dash, shoot, repeat" is very addictive. Cons: - Lack of decorations. Apart from the forest, which includes farms, swamps and caves, there's a small town and a cyberpunk city; the latter looks different from the former two, but it gets boring pretty quickly. - Music. Too much rock/metal. I like rock, but it makes SW look more like Serious Sam or Painkiller. Listen to both OSTs on YouTube and see for yourself. - Looting. There's more of it compared to the first game, and it's annoying. However, in most cases, you don't need to buy anything other than ammo, which, by the way, can also be restored on most of the maps. Picking up upgrades? ~90% of them are trash; the very few damage upgrades I have I found during the first 5-7 hours of playing. - Dead and pointless open world. Moreover, quite often enemies will spawn blocking your way to the objective and even chasing you, should you want to avoid engaging in combat. This is especially frustrating when you're doing a side-mission which takes place in the same location where you just did a story mission, so those are the same enemies you already fought. - Boss fights. They're low-effort and offer no challenge to the player. - Photo Mode. It would be under Pros, if scenes you screenshoted when in Photo Mode and in-game looked the same; sometimes they look worse, sometimes they look better. Personal preferences: +/- Weapon design. It's like a mix of Doom, Serious Sam and who knows what. The new guns don't stick to one style. +/- Too many guns. You don't even have enough gameplay time to try out all of them. The default revolver and shotgun were my best friends in the first half of the game, before they were replaced by The Triad and Cerberus, respectively. +/- Skill cards. They use pictures from the anime comic cutscenes from the first game. If this isn't some low-effort design, then I don't know what it is. +/- Difficulty. I noticed that sometimes enemies just pretend they're trying to kill you. What I mean is that they attack you right up to the point where your HP is low, and if you don't heal, they just pretend they attack, and when you kill one of them, you'll likely get a medkit. Even though I believe when the game's difficulty only depends on HP and damage (most of the games, including SW) it's just bad game design, I'd still want SW2 to be more challenging and fair. Humiliation, misandry, spitting in the player's face: - Lo Wang treats most, if not all, men like sh*t. However, when standing before each woman, he becomes a nice woman's servant boy. - Kamiko is always psychotic and keeps calling you (not HIM, but YOU, the player) an idiot, jerk and dumb for no reason, while she, of course, is wiser, smarter and better than you, literally, half-god. - Mamushi Heika always reminds you that you're her attack dog that must know his place. - Ameonna preaches to you like you're a silly puppy and she's your mistress. 1) Let me remind you that Lo Wang is a professional, a warrior who traveled to the Shadow Realm and killed a god. He likes comic books and makes jokes because a) he is basically you, the ordinary gamer and comic book guy, and b) he's so badass that he can actually afford to play dumb. 2) This game's target audience is MEN, which means that all women in it must look and act/behave according to the male fantasy, or, at the very least, be polite, and by no means should they humiliate the player. According to IMDB, there were no women among the writers, so I assume that the writers are just women worshipers who projected their will to serve women onto this game and onto its target audience.
Купил это только для игры в кооперативе с другом. Кооператив не работает. Просто невозможно подключиться. Я лично знаю матушек людей ответственных за поддержку игры, очень приятные и сговорчивые женщины.

This game was so good I went and played 1st and 3rd but they are very different. 1st is just fps like half life 1, 2nd is looter shooter rpg, 3rd is series of room battles that is just disappointing
I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate this game, let's throw out everything that made the first one good.
When games were about gaming rather than culture wars and white washing or political distraction cesspools.
