About
Set a Watch is an adaptation of modern board game. Tactical dice management gameplay offers unique decisions for the players trying to fight back creatures. Control a party of unique adventurers, each with distinct skills to vanquish evil before the Unhallowed consume the world in darkness. Secure nine locations to prevent the acolytes from breaking the seals ... and try to survive. Every dice roll determines your actions—attack, rest, or prepare for the next wave. Plan wisely, fight strategically, and survive the darkness. Will you rise to the challenge?
Fight monsters using your special skills. Attack directly with dice or activate the right abilities. The right timing for each spell is key to surviving so use your options carefully - mistakes can cost you a run.
Roll first, strategize next—every result is useful if you play it right. Finding the best way out of multiple options is the key to victory.
Choose your actions wisely—Heal, Scout, Equip, or Light the Fire. Will you unleash powerful magic runes now or save your best dice for the battle ahead?
Pick members of your team before your journey. Build the best squad or experiment with different combinations from six adventurers with unique skills. Will you overpower foes with a brute-force warrior, outwit them with a wizard’s magic, tame forest creatures to your advantage, or stand resilient in the light as a cleric?
Regular and Unhallowed monster abilities combine with each other, 20 different locations, 6 heroes, 30 abilities, and countless outcomes. Will you claim victory? Set a watch!

very good
Fun game! I had never played the physical board game, but I enjoy this digital version quite a bit. It is a pretty simple system that is easy to pick up with a good tutorial for the basics, but has a surprising amount of tactical depth. The six characters each shine under different circumstances and the stream of monsters you face each night really makes you think. Recommended. Looking forward to any future expansions they might release and the new characters and systems that come with them!
It's all right
I own and love the physical version, and this one does a great job of translating it into a digital format. If you've never played the board game before- this is a dice management game where you always have a party of four heroes. They have to survive a set number of nights, and each of these nights, one hero stays behind to run the camp while the other three stand watch. These three have to fight a stack of monsters, using their dice to either directly hit the monster or to activate one of their abilities. Meanwhile, the one back at camp is gathering firewood (to better see the enemies coming), checking maps, reorganizing their abilities and other strategic things. It is very easy to learn, and intuitive to play. The tutorial does a pretty good job for new players, but (unless I missed something) it missed an entire part of the camping phase, where you can spend doubles or triples on magical effects... I would not have bought it if they kept the AI generated card backs, but they heard the complaints from a lot of people and fixed it. Additionally, the version I have played runs great and is really well done. (Though, it oddly, feels more difficult than the one in my closet. Maybe that's just me.) The music is good, too, but I wish there was more of it. Also, more variety in the vocal cues, too. I know they're just grunts, but they all sounded the same. I hope this does well enough so we can get all those great expansions.
Very well done adaptation of the boardgame, I'm very impressed and I look forward to many plays! Well worth the money
Game is Broken, I was supposed to take 2 damage and the game broke and kept making me take 2 damage again and again and again. till all my characters dead.
So far I can say that it's a solid adaptation of original board game with really nice hand painted illustrations
I have both the boardgame version and its stand-alone expansion "sword of the coins". This digital adaptation do a good job : original artworks are nicely reproduced, board management is smooth, it's easy to check gravveyard, deck, characters abilities, etc... Also, Set a watch without sword of the coins have a perfect difficulty curve, well represented in the steam adaptation. In fact, with the expansion, the boardgame is too easy. However, more character/monster is always fun. BTW, for roughly 10 bucks it's a good shot. I will give the same amount for more content.
Great game with a poor UI that looks like a mobile port. Can not see all of the creature cards that you are facing, so can only use abilties on the first four or five cards, so sometimes abililtes that let you selct two unrevelaed cards will only let you choose one. UI scalling option in game settings does not seem to do much, if anything.
