About

With the dual stick controls, each stick represents one of your feet. You will need to learn how to control them and transfer weight, just like on a real skateboard. The physics have been developed with a focus on realism, smoothness and immersion. Just like in real life for a new skateboarder, the first hours can seem challenging, but once you have mastered the technique, you will feel the unrivalled thrill of pulling off your very first kickflip! Session: Skate Sim also includes full options customisation, so you can enjoy the perfect experience tailored to you. A full tutorial provides all the help you need to get started, and you can choose from four difficulty levels!

Inspired by the golden age of street skating – the 1990s – Session: Skate Sim lets you experience true skateboarding and its culture: no scoring system; just you, your spot and your imagination! There's no need for judges to tell you that your noseslide or varial heelflip are perfect for this spot. And because certain locations are iconic, the developers have added several of them to the game for you to skate in and express your creativity, including Black Hubbas (New York City), Brooklyn banks (New York City), FDR Park (Philadelphia) and many other spots.

Skating and pulling off the best lines in the best spots is one thing, but if no one is there to film it, it didn't really happen… In Session: Skate Sim, you can film with a 1990s filter or fisheye lens, and you can use the video editor to create your clips and share them. You can play with multiple options, including changing the field of view, time of day, filters, and different camera views (tripod, orbit, etc.). Session: Skate Sim also offers the chance to go from skater to filmmaker: pull off your moves then go into film mode to experience the action from the point of view of your camera operator and create the best clip.

Show off your style with an extensive customisation system for your skater and skateboard. By completing challenges, you earn money to spend in skate shops. You can find nearly 200 items (hoodies, shoes, caps, T-shirts, trousers, etc.) from top brands, such as Fallen, Zero, GrindKing, Thankyou, HIJINX Net, Antilanta, Roger Skate CO, No-Comply, iDabble and others. You can also customise your skateboard with over 250 parts, such as wheels, trucks and many other components from famous brands like, No-Comply, GindKing, Thankyou and many others. In addition to the design aspect, the components (trucks, riser pads, wheels…) impact the way you skate. Find the right ones for your style and shred the most iconic spots!

When I first heard that Session doesn't feature an in-game version of the skating capital of the world, Los Angeles, in the base game, I thought it was some sick, twisted, demented joke, but I guess SF is pretty cool... Buyers beware: you will fall...a lot. And it will hurt every time. Some of you will cry. Of course, not me, because I'm not a cry baby, but it would be perfectly reasonable if somebody did. I'm actually happy to say I don't suck at this as badly as I had anticipated, but I do suck (and a little less as time goes on), which goes to show it is possible to get used to the unique control scheme. Regardless, chaining several clean grinds in a row gives me the same feeling licking a battery does, and how many games can make that claim? 8 / 10 — points deducted for that "El Lay" prank, you jesters I just wish there was a score-based mode like in traditional skating games, since Session can feel a little too sandbox, without much of a goal. I need an additional kind of grind. (Breaking character to add this may be the best-optimized game I've ever played, since I get the full cap of 120 FPS at the highest settings on a potato.)

As a skater irl and long time lover of the SKATE franchise, this game takes the foundation and expands upon it ten fold. It's difficult at first but once you master it you really have complete control over the entire style of your tricks. You can also completely control the gravity, speed, turn rate, pop height, etc, which lets you tune for the level of realism you want. On top of that, you can skate at night, you can color grade the camera, and there's various options for fisheye and wide lens. You can also completely control the camera angle and distance, as well as the controls. This game is all about customizing the experience for your style, and your aesthetic preference. Personally, I run it in a low resolution with low anti aliasing, a nice color grade, night time only, wide fish eye lens, and a low camera angle as if I am following the skater with a VX1000 and it just looks like I'm watching a classic vid on VHS. The things I'm able to do and not do genuinely feels realistic for a pro as well, unlike SKATE where eventually you get so good it's like you can just grind anything and clear any gap and the realism slowly declines as your skill goes up. In this, as you get better, yes you can hit bigger stuff, pop over higher rails etc, but you have to earn it by mastering the flick timing and learning how to bone your tricks and use different combos of stick inputs cause there's a TON of different ways to do each trick. On my setup the triggers are basically your shoulders, and the sticks are your left & right hips/knees/feet, so you have full control of the body weight and not just which direction you turn, but exactly how, and when. Gameplay-wise it is a masterpiece and it truly captures the expressive side of skateboarding, you're not just doing preset stick inputs and triggering an animation, its a physics sandbox with a skateboard. I'm 40 hours and a few years in or so and still learning little nuances I didn't know about. If you're coming from SKATE, don't expect to automatically be good right away, a lot of the skill carries over but it's more difficult for sure. It's similar, but has faaaaar more detail and nuance, and you can get stuff to look way more real than I've ever seen in any SKATE game. Even just fuxing around on flat ground is fun because of all the ways you can tweak the tricks and experiment with different timings and inputs and see how it changes the style, then you take it to spots and it pays off when you actually need to do it a certain way cause the height or angle or whatever. Wanna turn late, catch with a certain foot, make it boned, tweak it, revert it, pivot it, nudge out, bonk the rail, dip a smith ?? all possible, and to get over certain obstacles, or pop into higher rails or make certain gaps etc it matters if you do or dont do these things, sometimes you will NEED to bone it and turn late just to get into or over something high. As you get more pro at the game, your avatar starts skating more like a pro, you'll start getting tricks and flick ins on stuff that seemed impossible at first and you're tricks will get cleaner/more life like, more stylish. Alternatively, you can just set the gravity low or your pop height to max but fr the proper way is to make it realistic and then learn the actual game mechanics, very rewarding to experiment and explore all the nuances in the controls. Some of the ♥♥♥♥ I've seen in this game maaaaaan, couldn't believe my eyes how authentic it looks. BIIIIIG UPSSS to the devs, thank you so much for your dedication to the game, all the little details you included in the physics, and making something so true to form and so fun to play. TL:DR - This is like the Assetto Corsa of skating games, when they said "Skate SIM" they meant it, looks so real it's fxd up.
waste of money. controls suck, cant do half the tricks you want to do. just pirate skate 3 instead.
whatever you do... DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU THINK SKATE 4 IS HARD THIS IS THE ELDEN RING OF SKATEBOARDING
确实不用手柄玩不了的游戏 官方也没给做键鼠适配 难度太高 体育游戏里仅次于急速前行的对双摇杆精细控制的难度 与运动专业性要求
the worst skateboard game ever the hitbox of every ledges rails etc is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up pls do something idgaf about having 120 fps i want a well developped skate game
