Serious Sam Classic: The First Encounter

Something about this game just clicks for me. Maybe I'm just nostalgic 'cause it's one of the few games the laptop I had as a kid could run.. Sure, some arenas/traps are outright dickish, but after blasting through it on Serious, there's a real trick to most of the game's combat. Every weapon (maybe not the pump action..) is very effective when you play to their strengths. And everything's so simple! No combos, no slide jumping, nothing. Just a lovely time, bar some occasional jank. Nothing game breaking. I won't lie and say it's 'varied'. It is mostly arenas. They're a common knock against the game and probably the biggest reason people don't like it. Which is fair. But they're fun! Tough, occasionally mean, generally solid. Again, maybe I'm biased. It's worth like half a dollar on sale. You get the First and Second encounter when you grab it, plus Classics Revolution. Solid recommend if you dig hard games and gigantic kill counts.

Безусловно, рекомендую к ознакомлению, хотя понимаю, что есть и HD переиздание и прочие версии! Эта игра часть моего детства и она со мной останется до конца жизни! Я думаю, что не один такой!

I originally played this on my late Grandfathers Xbox Original console. i must have been no older than 5. Amazing stuff.

Classic game? Sure, but Serious Sam is one of the most oudated games design wise. Waves of enemies constantly, "whats this encounter supposed to be like?" "oh just throw 300 enemies in a room that die in a single hit, and explode with acid, that will be fun" Just avoid the series and watch someone else play it to get the vibe.

Старый добрый Сэм! Кто его не знает!? Отличный шутер из эпохи начала нулевых, ставший уже классикой. Геймплей незамысловат, нужно истреблять бесчисленные орды противников, коих в этой игре хватает с избытком. Большое разнообразие оружия и врагов. Сюжет тоже прост, да и нужен ли мудрёный сюжет для такого мясного шутера? Армия пришельцев вторглась на Землю и остановить их может только наш бравый вояка по прозвищу Серьёзный Сэм, который будет истреблять супостатов не десятками, а сотнями. Ну а в качестве локации вас ждут красивые пейзажи Египта. В общем, это ураганный shot'em'all во всей своей красе, который и сейчас играется бодро, невзирая на устаревшую графику. Крайне рекомендуется к прохождению, но с одной оговоркой. Если только хотите познакомиться с классикой с самых её истоков. Ну а лучше советую HD-ПЕРЕИЗДАНИЕ, которое бережно сохранило весь геймплей и игра заиграла яркими красками с подтянутой графикой.
