About
After hostilities have broken out in Central Europe, the race is on as a pressured US Navy escort force battle off Soviet bomber and submarine attacks on a perilous quest to reinforce NATO defenders in Europe. Meanwhile, in the Persian Gulf, the conflict between Iran and Iraq risks escalating into a larger confrontation between superpowers as both sides indiscriminately attack neutral merchant shipping. And in the Norwegian Sea, an outnumbered Soviet surface force challenges the might of a massive US Navy amphibious force bound for occupied Norway...
Brought to you by the lead designer of Cold Waters, Sea Power lets you control NATO and Warsaw Pact forces in a modern naval conflict. Whether it's gunning it out with Boghammars in a surface duel, fighting off aerial attackers armed with long-range missiles, or hunting for enemy submarines with aircraft and surface ships, advanced weaponry and sensors are at your disposal.
Can you successfully hide your forces while detecting and tracking theirs? It is up to you to play an advanced game of cat and mouse on the high seas, to seize the initiative and attack with the advantage of surprise on your side. And at all times, you have to observe rules of engagement and take care not to cause an unnecessary incident that could lead to escalation. After all, you cannot really be sure just who that radar contact at 30.000 feet is, can you?

Reviews
Game is really good but the AI is so incredible stupid its insane its so bad that complex missions are not playable because units do not follow commands.
8/10 and developing nicely.
Game crashed six hours into a campaign and then I find out the game doesn't have autosave.
I was one of the people waiting on the dynamic campaign/1.0 release before buying this, but hearing about update 0.8 and the addition of the task force mode finally enticed me - and I don't regret it! Keeping in mind that it's still an early access title, Sea Power still has its issues, but it's clearly progressing and the new task force campaign mode is a strong statement of intent where I can actually see the developers working towards a dynamic campaign. It's certainly a very worthy spiritual successor to Fleet Command from the old days, and while it has nowhere near the complexity and depth in terms of managing large scenarios compared to, say, CMO/CMANO - what it does have is graphics, and it has those in spades. Te game does look really great and the variety of missions, units, and ways to play is definitely really solid. The UI is very functional, and I personally find the drop-down menus very intuitive, though there's still some things that take a few too many clicks. On the minus side - the AI, especially on the air side, is a bit lackluster and still requires a fair bit of micromanagement, limiting the scale and scope of the large scenarios. An even bigger limiter is performance - as of version 0.81, multithreading is still very limited and really starts dragging down frame rates in even moderate-size scenarios on a reasonably fast PC. It also stutters a fair bit, especially during long play sessions. For me, it stayed playable throughout, but someone with a slower computer might have more difficulty. I do have confidence that this will improve as the game develops, though, and one definite positive I can attest to is zero crashes in over 30 hours of play. The game is nowhere near finished, but with 0.8 it's definitely going in a very good direction and I can see myself playing it for years to come, provided the updates keep coming!
The graphics are beautiful, the gameplay mechanics are so easy to learn and the game is so much fun! There isn't really anything else like this out there and even if there was these guys smashed it! For the first 5-6 months of release they've been pushing updates here and there nothing too big but it was still fun to mess around in the editor and play the dev's campaigns and the workshop campaigns. BUT a couple of days ago they released a brand new game mode out of nowhere and oh boy they've been cooking! The new game mode is absolutely awesome! Create your own taskforce and fight in a theatre while building on that taskforce (Similar to Gates of hell conquest but its just on the sea and more modern combat) So yes get it!
Worthy successor to Jane's Fleet Command
Ships do not respond to navigation commands. Being able to control units seems like a pretty basic element to any game, but apparently not to the developers of this game.
The addition of the Pacific Strike dynamic campaign made it worth recommending you buy this game if you like anything with naval combat. I hope they add more scenarios like this.
The 0.8 update brought in a campaign with TF you set up and use persistently through many missions. Awesome work and exactly what I want to see more of!
With the New Task Force Mode is everything I have ever wanted in life. I need more!!! 10 missions is not enough!!! Cant wait for more Campaigns with this new mode
