The devs have done a fantastic job. Awesome graphics, smooth as silk, great variety, AI and tons of weapon choices, upgrades and mods to keep busy for a very long time. Awesome work!
This game has really satisfying combat with a cool story wrapped around it. What more could you want at this launch price?? Nice challenge too, your not going to get your hand held through this one! Just got my butt kicked by the first boss, which is kind of refreshing with a VR game.
Watch my video here https://youtu.be/fXf93LKzfpo Played using the Rift S. Graphics are sexy, effects are beautiful and animations are good. controls take some time getting used to, but when you do it become easy. Audio is great. I did however wish for some more beefy gun sounds. narrative is well acted. Gameplay is alot of fun. There is upgrades for your guns, shield and stuff. The levels are thought out, enemies are bad ass and the game is rock solid hard. Menu's are great and intuitive and they story is good enough for a wave shooter. This wave shooters is now in my top ten.
This a a great game and good value if you are looking for fast paced, easy to pick up VR experience. Super quick action and tons of cools mods for the weapons that keep play interesting while you go through wave after wave of different robots and environments. I really like how each level and opponent pushes you to try different strategies and weapon combinations to be successful. Lots of replay value! Great graphics and sounds and excellent performance on my Rift.
Saw the review on vrfocus and decided to give it a shot. Really fun shooter. It's a great workout if you add in some dodging and weaving to the game play.
An action rogue-like that excels at everything it aims for. It almost feels like playing arcade Time Crisis, but with the enemy team tactics and modifiers turning each room into a little combat puzzle. That said, I think they're going to need more variety to keep people grinding in the endgame. Waiting to hear about updates!
Pretty good Wave Shooter, unique in some ways, but could still use a bit of work in the users interfaces i think. Weapons are varied, you begin with 3 that you can upgrade and mod increasing certain stats, weapons can get pretty powerful. It must be mentioned that once a mission starts, you are stuck in place and cant move or teleport until the level finishes, in the "central hub" you can teleport but its more to explore your base than any gameplay aspects. No free locomotion but its not really needed for the type of game its trying to be. Progression is solid, doesnt feel too grindy. You can pick your next mission from a board, each with different dificulties and mission intel (like knowing youll face X enemies in that mission), I found the difficulty jump from mid to hard was a bit to high, but im also not complaining that much lol, because its ok to make think beforehand what weapon upgrades i should bring... the basic setup was enough for pretty much any medium difficulty mission. Enemies are ok, although id love more animations, i dont know if they have weapon weaknesses, but i certainly found killing certain enemies with certain weapons way easier. Graphically the game looks good, and performance was excellent, steadish 120fps with a gtx1080 and a r5 3600. The game still needs some polishing and a bit more content level and enemy wise could not hurt, but overall, its a very enjoyable Wave Shooter.
Wow the game is actually really cool I loved scraper first strike, and was a bit disappointed that scraper gauntlet wasnt the episode 2 and is a wave shooter, however ive got to give it to to guys- its so smooth and crisp, i love the gameplay and progression is really cool too. Its your second great game, i dont know why the games you put out are not super popular because they should be.
Disclaimer: I received this game through participation in the Beta. Scraper Gauntlet is an arcade shooter with elements of progression and story. The game play itself is very smooth. Enemies come in the form of Humech bots; which come in enough variety to keep you on your toes. You can duck, dodge, weave, use your shield to block enemy fire AND you can even grab enemies, projectiles, explosive barrels and more with your force-like powers! You can even force grab enemies with one hand and shoot them with the other! As you complete stages you unlock weapon upgrades, shield upgrades and core stat points that go towards rewards such as increased health and different fire types (think laser bolt vs laser beam). These are great to experiment with as you can allocate the points in whatever way suits your play style. As you progress you become more and more powerful, learning enemy movement, boss mechanics and audio queues to know where enemies are about to spawn which feels very satisfying. The campaign is meaty enough, giving many hours of play and after the campaign you can continue to gain power through weapon and stat points. There are lots of level varieties to keep things fresh and interesting, allowing you to explore different options to eliminate enemies. The game is very polished and I had no performance issues running through my Rift S. I highly recommend this game.
Disclosure: I received the game as a thank-you gift for being one of the top beta testers in the public beta period. I have not received nor will I receive any compensation for this review. It is obviously a wave shooter, so let's not fuss about that. You either like them or you don't. Personally I think this game is a lot of fun, and it is very polished. The graphics, music, and sound effects are all excellent, and performance is fantastic. You get three very different gun types attached to your hands which you can upgrade and transform with mods and a throwing stun dagger on your chest. You can reflect blaster shots back at enemies with shields on your arms. you can catch missiles out of the air and send them back, you can force-grab enemies and block blaster fire with them or slam them into each other or fling them off into the distance. You can slow down time, steal health, and dodge like you're in the matrix. The game is good about teaching you as you play, and after you finish the short-ish story mode (around 3 hours if you're godlike and already know everything) there is a long endgame where you can get buff and rank up while also fighting stronger enemies. I think it will be fun for all different skill levels and has good replay value.
