I've played this game a lot a few years ago, before survival and when it didn't have a lot of things to offer. I've mainly played creative because I liked building stupid stuff, trains and train infrastructure. When challenge mode and survival came out I didn't really play any of these gamemodes because I only ever really cared about the creative aspect of this game, even the creators not responding didn't matter. But now that the survival is pretty much finished, I really want to play it. I really hope this is not the last time we ever see a bigger update developed and added to this game. Besides... CHAPTER 2 IS FINALLY HERE!!!1!11!!1!
I've been playing survival and it's just awful. I feel like the game is punishing me at every step of the way. It starts you out building your first vehicle with a template. Well a couple hours in that template fell through the map. So I had to start all over again. Only to find out that the vehicle you build with that template is USELESS! It is literally slower then walking and almost impossible to steer. Yet you run around gather stuff to build it when you shouldn't even bother. But even when you upgrade to better parts the vehicle are still awful! It's like you are gliding on ice everywhere. You can't steer without fishtailing. You can't even go full speed without fishtailing. If you want any traction you have to weight down your vehicle until the suspension is useless. I don't know why it's even in the game. And then the progression is horrible too. You can run around thinking you know the danger level only to suddenly be swapped by 6 robots all at once that instantly kill you. Or a robot with a gun that one shots you. Say goodbye to your inventory because that robot will just one shot you every time you go back to retrieve it. And you can't build a gun. You have to buy them once you've done a bunch of other unexplained, obscure task that you don't even know you have to do. Crafting is a clunky mess as is the UI in general. Again, I just felt punish for trying to do anything. Food feels unbalanced as you barely recover any health and you need to eat like 4-6 items to get to full health. Water is even worse in that you carry around buckets of water but can't drink from them or the many bodies of water around. No, you have to bash giant corn with your hammer and then feed that to cows to get milk to drink or find random shakes which is rare. It's complexity for the complexities sake and it feels like it. To get food you have to find it in random crates or grow it. Except as soon as you plant anything the robots detect it and you get a countdown until they come and destroy your crops in some random number of minutes. Makes it very hard to explore very far when you have to keep returning to base to protect your food source. Again, every game mechanic just feels punishing to play. There are already far better games in this genre to play that don't make it feel like a chore. So just play them and give this a pass. I know there is a long awaited update coming out soon but unless it revamps pretty much everything about the mechanics, physics and UI, I can't see it helping improve the experience.
i'm the engineer and i like this game runs well on my pc too
Сотни часов контента. А это еще и не вышла 2 глава которая выйдет в эту пятницу! Игра стоит своих денег, даже с поднятой ценой
this game is quite fun though the volume is quiet even at 100 but its still fun either way
incroyable pour s'amuser et exprimer sa créativité et réflechir.
muy bueno, full creatividad
I have been watching youtube about scrap mechanic since release and I finally was able to play right before the survival update. This game means a lot to me and has grown along with me. I have 1,507 hours on my old account and just rebought the game before the pricing changes on this account so I finally wont have to switch back and forth for scrap mechanic. Every single time Axolot posted devlogs I would get so hyped and excited for Chapter 2. I still can't believe it is actually happening. I still remember my first silly builds and later they evolved into much more complex creations. Scrap Mechanic has always been so great and I knew that in the time being the devs were cooking up. P.S. I still can't believe they literally called them clankers that's wild.
