Scrap Garden is a charming puzzle platformer about the adventures of Canny, a lonely robot, who awakens in a post-apocalyptic world to find all other robots shut down and seized up. What happened to the City? Why did all robots stop moving? Did anyone survive except him?

Short, Simple, and Frustrating Scrap Garden has two major issues: One, the level design isn't interesting or fun. Two, the controls don't feel good. In a collectathon styled platformer, these are the two most important things to nail to make the game enjoyable. So that I'm not just saying things, let me explain the issues in greater detail. For levels, there are 3 different types. Fully 3D, semi-3D, and top down. Most levels are fully 3D, giving you full camera control and movement control. These levels are bland (mostly grey, white, and brown colors), they are populated by enemies that all die in a single jump, and lack an diversity in programming, and are chocked full of red gems. To progress these levels, you always need to accumulate a certain number of gems, and find the exit. Nicely, there are more gems in each level than you need, but unfortunately, if you gather more gems than needed, you don't get to keep them, and they don't contribute to anything else. For the semi-3D levels, you have a 2D view of rooms, and you can move left and right, as well as deeper or shallower in the scene. However, the controller for the character often feels like it's completely changed. The character moves slower, the jumps are shorter, and you often lose the ability to double jump, making it feel really weird to play. The Top down levels are pretty much all boss levels/areas, the controls are essentially exactly the same as in the 3D levels, but without camera controls. Now, for the character controller. You move with no real weight, depending on what kind of level you're in you will feel a drastic change in character speed, and jump control. One of the worst things about the character controls is that there are many sections where you need to land on a small area, but the character doesn't have a drop shadow, so it's difficult to know where you're going to land. The fact that any given level is completely reset if you die, such as by missing a landing spot, you have to do everything you just did again. Lastly, the penultimate boss you fight is a QTE, and a bad one. I found that I had to hit the wrong key, and then the correct key for the QTE to work, but it took me a good 50 times trying to get the timing right to finally try something new. All told, this is a pretty ameturish game, which is fine, but unfortunately, it's also really boring and frustrating.
It's pretty rough around the edges and the voice acting sucks balls BUT it has a lot of charm and some good worldbuilding. The story gets you hooked immediately and the twist ending hit me like a truck, the levels feel big enough to explore but small enough to not waste your time, and the platforming is really solid and satisfying despite the janky hitboxes and physics elsewhere in the game. Only takes about 2-5 hours to beat, maybe 6-7 if you go for 100%. A short and sweet little adventure. Would totally buy a small action figure of Canny.

Boring
Инди 3D платформер, с очень плохой графикой, простым сюжетом и 1й душной ачивкой на 300 киллов, в целом норм, к тому же 1/2 разрабов русский.
