he on my scoop till i kick
A charming and challenging indie game based on some old-school arcade classics! What's not to love? The gameplay is tight, responsive and addictive with some really nice game-feel when kicking the scoops (lol I said the thing) down through more and more complex level designs. The game introduces new level mechanics, enemy types with different path-following AI and even some mini-boss fruit that love to cause chaos (Watermelons, I'm looking at you). The visuals are bright and the pixel art is really nicely put together with a really nicely consistent art style. The sound effects are crunchy and yummy, as all bit-crushed sounds should be and the presentation comes together as a whole to really sell the retro arcade feel. The music is okay, however there is one stand out track that plays somewhere around the middle that has appeared before in this creator's other projects. This new version slaps. The game is really tense at times, I constantly found myself on the edge of my seat trying to make sure that I didn't succumb to the evil grapes, berries and more. This is definitely not a chill experience and, at least in my case, got the heart rate going. Playing this while doing something else i.e. streaming is really hard! My only issue with the game would be there are one or two level designs (the first bonus level really suffered from this) where it feels like I'm relying on the AI being stupid rather than my gaming skills, a couple of extra ladders would've gone down nicely there. There's also some great nods in this game to other franchises that the creator is clearly passionate about, and its just super heartwarming to see. Overall, great game. I can't wait to see what the post-game and more has to offer! Although I doubt I'll ever reach the dev scores...
I finished the game at 100% and honestly. It was a blast. Knowing some of Ryemanni's past projects (mostly Rayman Redemption and Redesigner which were amazing fangames), Scoop Kick doesn't disappoint. It mostly takes inspiration from Buger Time, but adds its own flavor to the formula. Most levels were fun to get all types of medals. The enemy cast is pretty varied with each enemies having their own behaviour. The world and level gimmicks are well implemented and the game does allow itself to get really creative with these (especially 2-4, 5-2, and most Bonus levels). Scoop Kick's just one of those games that hardly screws things up anywhere, meaning there isn't really a lot of dirt to throw at it (which is actually nice). I originally wanted it to have some sort of endless mode but, from what I've seen, it's currently being implemented in the game which is really good. Aside from that, the music is pretty good, the sprite work is cool. Overall, it's one of those games that you just can't hate since they're really fun, and proves that arcade inspired games aren't dead. I can't wait to see what Ryemanni has to offer in the future, including Connie and The essence of Chaos, which from what I've seen of the teasers and videos, looks just as good or even better as Scoop Kick.
Very nice
A nice and challenging experience through and through! The levels all provide fun medal missions that are sure to entertain for a good while and really make you think about the game in very different ways. Once you realize the enemies' pathfinding is a lot less random than you might suspect it opens up a whole book of tactical possibilites. The only real complaints I could find were that the dev times should've probably not counted towards 100% but instead a sort of 120% and it's a bit of a bummer that the final character was locked away behind getting all of 'em, which the halloween update fortunately sort of fixed, but it would've been nicer if it was locked behind a 50% of the dev times or less, because they can be really gruelling. But yeah! If you're looking for a nice arcade-like challenging cookie then this is the game for you!
Scoop Kick is an arcade game, that plays like a combination of Burger Time and Snow Bros. You take control of Ms. Cream, who needs to kick all the ice cream scoops scattered across the level back to the cones, while avoiding all sorts of fruity baddies. Since Ms. Cream only features a kick that can move the scoops, can't jump or drop down the platforms, you have to use the rolling scoops to your advantage, and squash all the enemies that are in your way. This nets you additional bonus points as well (with high scores being one of optional objectives, so you really have to think ahead and plan your moves in advance - especially when dropping subsequent scoops to the same cone gives you additional points per each scoop). Scoop Kick presents a nice level of challenge, with 5 worlds, new mechanics being introduced every once in a while (like bouncy walls or trapdoors), the aforementioned optional challenges (in form of level medals), unlockable characters and bonus stages. Combined with simple, but pleasant graphics and nice music tracks, Scoop Kick is definitely recommended if you're looking for a simple, but addictive little arcade title!
Honestly, I only bought this to supoort the dev who made the amazing Rayman 1 remake and that promising Rayman clone. Pros: -A fun little arcade game where you kick ice cream to crush enemies. -Some interesting bosses the help mix the game up like the grapes that spawn mini enemies. -There are some harder extra levels for the post game and they do mix the enemies a bit like the pears that become ghosts when squished. -Like the art and character design. Cons: -I know the enemies have different AI (I noticed with the oranges and cherries) but I have no idea what each one does differently. -The bonus levels are this game at it's worst since you have to collect all the pick ups with no means to defend yourself. They are harder than the post game secret and extra levels -I have no idea what these Dev scores are in the achivements but I have a feeling they are bull crap since the normal score medals are hard enough to get.
Fun little game but the grape enemies are literally satan. The levels where they appear in are the worstt
