About

Scavland is a hardcore survival RPG set in Zalesye, a land ravaged by war and the mysterious Mist.
You are a Vulture - a scavenger surviving on what the old world left behind. Explore abandoned settlements, take dangerous jobs, fight mutants and hostile survivors, and slowly build the equipment and reputation you need to push deeper into the wastes.
Ammunition is scarce, weapons can jam, radiation is everywhere, and preparation can mean the difference between returning with valuable loot or not returning at all.

Zalesye is home to different factions, settlements, traders, scavengers, and survivors, each trying to make a life in what remains of the world.
Meet their people, take quests, build relationships, and decide who you are willing to work with. Your reputation and choices shape how different groups treat you and what opportunities become available.
Some are trying to rebuild society. Others are simply trying to survive it.
Explore a handcrafted open world filled with abandoned structures, dangerous forests, irradiated swamps, hidden locations, mutants, bandits, and remnants of the old world.
But the surface is only part of Scavland.
Discover entrances to underground bunkers and other dangerous locations featuring procedural layouts, creating different spaces to explore across your playthroughs.
The further you leave the safety of known roads and settlements, the greater the danger - and the better the potential rewards.
Weapons are more than something you find and replace.
Collect firearms and attachments throughout the world and customize them to fit your needs. Change components, experiment with different configurations, and build weapons around your preferred playstyle.
Your equipment defines how prepared you are for the journey ahead. Build your loadout around where you are going, what you expect to encounter, and how much you are willing to risk.

Survival depends on more than what you can find in the wastes.
Traders offer weapons, equipment, attachments, supplies, and other valuable goods - but their best stock has to be earned.
Take jobs, complete requests, and build your reputation with the people of Zalesye. As your relationship improves, new items and opportunities become available.
Every expedition becomes part of a larger cycle:
Prepare. Explore. Scavenge. Survive. Return. Upgrade. Go deeper.

You survived being near-fatally shot by mysterious soldiers said to have come from a far-away land with no Mist.
Now you want answers.
The people of Zalesye speak of the East as a promised land beyond the RO-29 Highway - somewhere untouched by the Mist and the horrors consuming the Continent.
Whether those stories are true is another question.
Explore Zalesye, follow its stories, help its inhabitants, and uncover what the Mist is - and why you survived when you should have died.

Reviews
To save you reading the review, if you like stalker or survival experiences centered around collecting equipment, the game is absolutely worth a try with the understanding in mind that it is still very much early access. The story content is extremely limited, only a small handful of quests are out and there is only so much gear to collect which is the main progression loop of the game. Otherwise id wait a few months at least, give the devs time to build on the so far solid bones of the game, I'm confident they'll make something special. That being said here's a list of the good and the bad The good - novel and interesting art style / animations with 2d frame by frame pixel art animation. I like the look and feel of the sprites, however one thing to note is that this art style is very labor intensive and has led the devs to make some compromises. One that may be particularly notable to some people is that currently your characters appearance does not change based on equipped items, (except for your gun) and my understanding is that in the future you will be able to select outfits, but your characters equipment will never be perfectly visualized like in other titles. That being said i still enjoy the art style quite a bit, and this is a reasonably small compromise imo. - punchy sound design for the weapons, they all feel pretty solid and are satisfying to shoot. - interesting locations to explore - there is a limited but present sense of factions interacting, mostly just them fighting. - plenty of opportunities to loot ♥♥♥♥♥ it up and collect cool gear and weapons The Bad - mostly some glaring game balance issues that are currently being addressed by the devs, so keep in mind they may be fixed in the future. - weapons and a to a lesser degree armor break absurdly quickly, and the repair kits in the game have a minimum threshold of durability your item must be on for it to be repaired. The threshold is set too high, and weapons break too quickly oftentimes resulting in the weapon falling below the threshold and becoming essentially unusable after 1 firefight where you forget to repair them. (as i speak the devs have released a patch to address this one, gonna leave this in for now) - radiation system feels clunkily implemented, with no visual indicators of irradiated areas. there is gameplay feedback to alert you of radiation, like a radiation bar filling, gieger counter sound playing, and a visual effect that appears on your screen, but with on visual markings you often accidentally enter irradiated zones sometimes accumulating enough radiation to take damage. This combined with the fact that some interesting areas are covered in radiation, with no current way that i'm aware of to gain enough radiation resistance to safely navigate these areas these things accumulate into a somewhat clunky feel of the irradiation mechanic, one that mostly serves to cut off interesting areas rather then add as a meaningful layering of challenge. - mentioned above, story content is extremely limited with the early access release, and I've found that most of the progression and story of the game currently can be played through in five or six solid gameplay sessions, if you're a freak like me, your milage may vary depending on your preferred gameplay style. - many areas of the map are separated by barriers such as cliffs or fences / walls. these areas are not indicated on the mini-map and make navigating certain areas of the map feel a bit clunky and frustrating. Sometimes forcing you to take long detours left or right just to gain access to certain areas, or leave certain areas. - the current faction system is quite bare bones, with updates coming in the future. As it stands however, the only interesting interaction is whether certain factions will be hostile or not. If i had to guess, these interactions do not change for 95% of the player base. Additionally its quite easy to accidentally shoot friendly factions during firefights, causing the members of said faction in the general vicinity to become hostile. not a huge deal, but worth noting. All in all the bones of the game are very solid. After adding more content to the game and sorting out some of the balancing kinks, this is definitely a title to keep an eye on imo.

Having fun so far. Not super far in but difficulty seems fine. Sure QoL and other things need to be fleshed out but as an EA, loving it. If you are having issues playing, just save scum it.

Scavland is an incredibly atmospheric small bite sized take on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. while incorporating lite elements of art style and stealth from games like Intravenous. Every gunshot you hear, every mutant howl is real and can be triangulated. Whether that's a fight to avoid or a looting opportunity, that's up to you. The style, atmosphere and audio are top notch. However, my only real complaint is perhaps balancing. It's early days and the devs are still gathering feedback. But my biggest complaint is the game's economy in that guns are valued at, for example, 30k and you receive maybe 2k for a sale. Upon completing loads of tasks for traders, their reputation only increases by a laughably small amount. Resulting in you realistically needing to complete 30-40 fetch quests to rank up just once. Then there's the hunger and thirst. These, like most survival games just drain far too quickly. But all in all, Scavland is a fantastic indie game with heavy roots in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. appeal and I whole heartedly recommend.
Great vibe, interesting hook, decent feel with room to grow, and some outstanding issues that others have already mentioned. Good bones, overall. Looking forward to watching development progress!
This isn't an early access title it's a beta. Half the game's finished. It's missing way more content than it should. Very basic things will fail you. Things like your money resetting to the default starting value of 10 000$ at random interval. Reloading a save ? It won't save your injuries and will restore you to full health. Taking on a bunch of quests to maximize your travel time ? Oh no no no... the game will cancell 2/3 of your quests randomly just removing them from your quest log. If that's a built-in 1-day timer then it's not displayed anywhere in-game. Seriously, stay away until this game's at least 2/3 complete. In it's current state core mechanics aren't working well or aren't there at all and it makes the game nothing more than a demo. There's no point in painstakingly accumulating money when your money randomly reset. Lastly, the game has potential. The map looks great, the shooting mechanic seems to be going in a good direction. It just needs A LOT of work.
