Sam & Max: This Time It's Virtual!

if you are a big sam and max fan you will love this. unfortunately there isnt a button to kiss max.

i'll admit, a vr sam and max game was a very nice idea. upon trying out the game it had felt that idea had been trampled and severely washed down with a pressure washer. it lacks fun to the point of it actively sucking fun out of me and i dont see myself completing it any time soon. that head puzzle felt like it were designed for a five year old yet still had me failing it with an incredibly generous timer to boot. the shooting section and its ammo might as well have just been a waiting game that got kind of fun as it went on and the throwing physics are dialed up so much that i feel horrifically superhuman.

Man muss dazu sagen, dass ich biased bin. Ich liebe Sam and Max seit meiner Kindheit. Ich fand den Anfang ganz cool dann hat es leider immer mehr nachgelassen. Die Minispiele würde ich alle bis auf eins nicht nochmal spielen. Für 25 euro ist es einfach zu teuer für das was es bietet. Wenn mans für 10 euro bekommt würde ich es vll richtigen sam and max fans empfehlen, sonst muss ich leider sagen ist das nicht so zu empfehlen

It has a ton of potential but it falls flat. Why not focus more on puzzle solving rather than horrible boring mini games ? No way worth 30 bucks. So glad I bought it on sale. The graphics and sound are nice, true to the S&M artwork. The dialogue between them is funny but the story, game controls and mechanics suck. Feels more like a proof of concept rather than a full game. 5/10 A proper old school interactive graphic adventure in VR would be a dream come true. Maybe one day......

This game is a huge lot of fun, the minigames aren't a total slog, and were actually pretty fun. The writing and dialogue were spot on to what I would expect! Obviously I can't expect old characters to come back, but some old references were a nice touch. The only thing I didn't like was just how short the experience was and/or the lack of content. The overall experience was good, just I wish there was more to do! If the devs added an expansion with a new case every now and then it would be one of the best story based vr games I have ever played! If you're a big fan of sam & max like me, you'll like this game.

As a HUGE fan of this franchise, I can't recommend this game to anyone who isn't as equally dedicated as I am. Some of the dialogue is funny, and the plot is gripping enough, but the controls and frequent bugs--along with the inconsistent visuals and lazy animations--make the game pretty frustrating. The voice actors did an incredible job of course, but unfortunately Sam and Max seem completely content to constantly talk over each other and skip through multiple lines, and the subtitles are often riddled with typos or just straight-up don't match what the characters are saying. tl;dr - Great franchise, but don't play this game in particular unless you're a genuine die-hard fan with money to burn

Its not that good tbh

Characters often stare aimlessly in one direction, the game gives you a button to talk to Sam and Max but it often doesn't do anything, interacting with objects is sometimes precise and awkward, and overall the game feels very barebones.

Sam & Max: This Time it's JANK! If you love Sam & Max, both old and new, then I recommend playing this. The game's pretty much full of jank and lacks polish, but the reason you buy the game is for the titular partners in crime-fighting, and they deliver: they're the same lovable goofs you knew from before, but this time, you can pick Max up and throw him yourself! Max is a lot of fun, I loved interacting with him. I can assure you he's not underused in this game. There's no returning characters from the previous Telltale games or the LucasArts solo outing, so the focus is where it needs to be to make this game enjoyable and worth a playthrough. Despite how unfinished the game feels, I would definitely play it again sometime: it's short and well-segmented enough that you can jump in anytime and see if you're throwing arm's gotten any better, and the game itself doesn't take up much space on your hard drive. Go on, buy it! For old time's sake.

i love sam & max and it IS fun to listen to the two titular characters chatter, but the game itself is just bad. it might be more fun if the controls were better, but even then that wouldnt be able to save the rest of it. if youre a big fan of the series its worth it to, like, watch someone else play through the game, but it isnt worth *your* money. i would have enjoyed a vr movie where you just sorta hang with them on a linear and uninteractive case more than i enjoyed this mess
