Sable's Grimoire is a visual novel series set in a fantasy world filled with magic and monsters. It follows the adventures of Sable, a young human who wants to become a magic researcher, during his time at Amadronia Academy.
Sable spends his everyday life at Amadronia surrounded by demi-humans, including elves, pixies, and succubi, as he learns more about this magical world and the creatures within it.

With Sable's first year at Amadronia coming to an end, he wants nothing more than to spend the upcoming break at the academy, studying in peace while his friends and classmates head home for the holidays.
However, his half-dragon best friend and roommate, Drakan, has other plans in store for him. She has been trying to get him to visit her home for months now, and with a sizeable break right before around the corner, that time has finally come.
Before the duo can set off, a surprise visit from Drakan's mother, Nidhogg, gives them reason to pause. Holding an ominous necklace in her hand, she forces the seemingly cursed artifact onto Sable, then sets him up with one trial after another.
Dragged to either extreme by these two frightfully powerful beings, will Sable manage to survive the holidays in one piece?

Love it! The characters are complex and they go through great growth through the course the story. Things are not black and white and instead there are many layers to everything. The game keeps you constantly guessing rather than stick to tropes (i.e. possessive dragon, struggling human, evil mother-in-law).
good story telling! Cant wait for the next game :)
Sable’s Grimoire: A Dragon’s Treasure is a fantasy visual novel developed and published by Zetsubou that serves as a continuation of the world and characters introduced in the original Sable’s Grimoire. Rather than attempting to reinvent the formula, the game focuses on expanding existing relationships and exploring a new chapter in the life of its protagonist, Sable. The story begins after the conclusion of his first academic year at a prestigious magical academy, where he hopes to enjoy a peaceful break dedicated to research and study. Those plans quickly unravel when he accompanies his half-dragon companion Drakan to her homeland, setting the stage for a journey filled with danger, humor, and personal growth. The narrative thrives on its character interactions. Sable remains an intelligent and pragmatic lead whose curiosity about magic often places him in unusual situations. His relationship with Drakan is at the center of the story, and much of the game’s charm comes from watching the two navigate increasingly complicated circumstances. The arrival of Drakan’s formidable mother, Nidhogg, dramatically raises the stakes. Her decision to place a mysterious necklace on Sable and subject him to a series of demanding trials creates a compelling central conflict that drives the plot forward. What follows is an engaging blend of fantasy adventure and character drama that keeps readers invested in the outcome. One of the game’s strongest qualities is how it develops its cast. Conversations are lengthy and detailed, allowing personalities to shine through naturally. The writing places significant emphasis on relationships, family expectations, and cultural differences within a world inhabited by dragons, elves, succubi, pixies, and other fantastical races. These elements help make the setting feel richer and more believable. Rather than relying solely on grand magical conflicts, the story often focuses on personal struggles and emotional connections, giving the narrative a more intimate feel. The world-building is equally impressive. New players are given access to optional lore explanations, character profiles, and glossary entries that make it easier to understand the setting without requiring prior knowledge of the series. Returning fans, meanwhile, will appreciate the deeper exploration of dragon society and the additional context surrounding established characters. This balance allows the game to function both as a sequel and as a reasonably accessible standalone experience. As a visual novel, gameplay revolves primarily around reading and making choices that influence how events unfold. The story contains multiple endings, encouraging replayability and rewarding players who wish to explore different decisions. The branching narrative gives choices genuine weight, and the various outcomes add value to repeated playthroughs. While there are no complex gameplay mechanics beyond these decisions, the strength of the storytelling ensures that the experience remains engaging throughout its considerable length. Presentation is another area where the game performs well. The anime-inspired artwork is attractive and expressive, helping convey both emotional scenes and moments of tension. Character designs are distinctive and memorable, while event illustrations provide visual highlights during key story sequences. The soundtrack complements the fantasy atmosphere effectively, enhancing both lighthearted and dramatic moments without becoming intrusive. The pacing can occasionally feel slow, particularly during sections dedicated to lore exposition or extended dialogue. However, players who enjoy narrative-heavy visual novels will likely view this as a strength rather than a weakness. The gradual development of relationships and the steady unraveling of the story’s mysteries create a satisfying sense of progression. By the time the narrative reaches its conclusions, the emotional investment built throughout the journey pays off with several memorable moments. Overall, Sable’s Grimoire: A Dragon’s Treasure succeeds as a character-focused fantasy visual novel that expands upon its predecessor while offering a substantial and enjoyable story of its own. Its engaging cast, detailed world-building, meaningful choices, and appealing presentation make it a worthwhile experience for fans of fantasy narratives and visual novels. Although the deliberate pacing may not appeal to every player, those willing to immerse themselves in its rich dialogue and character development will find a rewarding adventure filled with charm, mystery, and heart. Rating: 8/10
This is an excellent continuation of the Draken route in the original game. The story is intriguing and the characters are fun to see. Some of the other characters in the original such as Rei, Eth, and Lisha play significantly less of a role in this game than the original but that is to be expected. Overall, I think that this is a fun game so far and I definitely recommend it if you enjoyed the original one.
7/10 While I would like to say it improved Drakan this really didn't, I would say the clear winner in this is her mother as she was pretty interesting
Genial continuación para la historia de Drakan. Como ya dije en la reseña del juego principal, lo único que le caga un poco es la calidad del arte. Pero la historia compensa.
If you like dragon girls I recommend this game to you, if you want to romance a dragon I highly recommend this game
Sable's Grimoire: A Dragon's Treasure Recommended Length: Short (5-10 Hours) Number of Routes: 1 Choices: Yes Failure Possible: Yes Character Rating: Good Story Progression: Very Good Scene Flow: Decent Music Rating: contains a few of the base story tracks, the new tracks are good Achievement Difficulty: 1 Additional Thoughts: A expansion on Drakan's route from the base story, it does well to match the story telling of the original novel. Its themes are slightly darker then Drakan's route in Sable's Grimoire (traveling only down the good ending path). Choices you make seem to direct into which ending you end up getting more then the original story's single choice leads to an ending. It does setup more things for future titles in the series both being kinda indirectly and directly involved with this timeline. It did leave me wondering about where Drakan will go in the sequel to the main story. But if you did end up liking Sable's Grimoire then you might enjoy this one as well. And i am personally interested in reading more of these. The only complaints or more things noticed while reading this was, Sable claims to have graduated from high school a few times, even in his head at one point. although later says he dropped out of high school. and some of the 'Nauseous' lines uses an weird plural
I have funny situation, when I like Lisha as character, but find story around her boring, and then I dont like Drakan and then all this story around her is my favorite piece of the game, excluding Jorou. Its interesting, its mystical, shady and intense. I highly recommend this novel to anyone, who liked original, even if Drakan was not your favorite. SPOILER! P.S. Its funny how Sable is best dragongirl of the game himself.
