Отвратительная реализация с кучей ИИ шлака и ботов.
I genuinely hoped this would be more helpful for turning game ideas into playable prototypes than other SDKs like Unity, UE or Godot, especially with agentic AI coding, but it wasn't even just as hard. It was actually harder. At some point into a 300-hour long build of a simple prototype, I've caught myself importing basic assets that you'd think would be available in the game's workshop, all the while learning the animation rig and creating extensions for it, for things you'd think would be available from the start. You will be creating basic controllers and other code assets from scratch. You will struggle to understand how the networking works outside the basic lobby system that the game comes with, or how to test dedicated server hot-reloads for clients (I still don't). The animation rig is pretty much the only thing that helps you build things better than you would do in other SDKs, but it's not that much better as to be worth the time investment, at least for me, as an amateur dev doing this for fun. This is supposed to be lowering the barrier of entry into game development, and it's failing on every front. At least, for now. Looking forward to more updates though. In FP's defence, they seem to be aware of everything I've been struggling with, and are already rolling out more content, more pre-built tools and assets, and a better, more intuitive animation rig. They are also introducing more native support for agentic coding, which is awesome.
I am baffled that this game was made into full release in this state. Nothing about this feels complete and it's still updated with basic 1.0 features each weeks. A videogame only get one chance at being ''new'' and feature ''complete''. In my opinion they blew it and i am sad that i paid for this product i don't even know who this is for in this state, I really hope that this game can be redeemed but there is no way it's worth your money in the current state.
I was enticed by the idea of playing around with the Source 2 engine and was ready to try out s&box as soon as it was out of the early access stage as I didn't want to have to fumble through poor documentation during the early stages of development. Unfortunately, it's still VERY MUCH still in the early access stage of development and the documentation is still lacking. The developer's solution has been to encourage people to use LLMs when developing their games and adding Claude integration into the s&box editor. A quick look through the list of user created games in the s&box library shows that this approach is pretty popular with people who are willing to use LLM generation for every aspect of their game including the thumbnail for it. As someone who would actually like to learn how things work and maybe even develop some best practices in how to utilize the Source 2 engine it is painfully frustrating. There are currently few tutorials in other places but all the ones I have found are outdated and no longer work. Support for even basic issues is almost non-existent. I'm not even going to get into the problems with the sandbox mode since it's not why I forked over $20 for this. I think most people expected the sandbox mode to be a downgrade from Garry's mod and it is definitely that in more ways than I could have anticipated. I can see a future where things get turned around and s&box becomes more than just an AI slop containment vessel whos developers are threatening to let it spill over into the Steam Marketplace, but currently I can't recommend it to anyone outside of the most AI enthusiastic developers and absolutely no one who actually plays video games.
pretty bad game why is there a marketplace
Very fun! now that Roblox is run by a PEDO this scratches that itch it left in my heart AND the games are way better due to the fact that this game has a better algorithm and the audiance is going to be older. thank you facepunch!
