Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.43/day in the week to Sep 14 → 11/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I genuinely hoped this would be more helpful for turning game ideas into playable prototypes than other SDKs like Unity, UE or Godot, especially with agentic AI coding, but it wasn't even just as hard. It was actually harder. At some point into a 300-hour long build of a simple prototype, I've caught myself importing basic assets that you'd think would be available in the game's workshop, all the while learning the animation rig and creating extensions for it, for things you'd think would be available from the start. You will be creating basic controllers and other code assets from scratch. You will struggle to understand how the networking works outside the basic lobby system that the game comes with, or how to test dedicated server hot-reloads for clients (I still don't). The animation rig is pretty much the only thing that helps you build things better than you would do in other SDKs, but it's not that much better as to be worth the time investment, at least for me, as an amateur dev doing this for fun. This is supposed to be lowering the barrier of entry into game development, and it's failing on every front. At least, for now. Looking forward to more updates though. In FP's defence, they seem to be aware of everything I've been struggling with, and are already rolling out more content, more pre-built tools and assets, and a better, more intuitive animation rig. They are also introducing more native support for agentic coding, which is awesome.

Loads of potential, but far too early for being a released game.
unoptimized piece of ♥♥♥♥ bring back the work shop this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiculus it load worse than if you are playing roblox on a 30 dll phone
Note : 7/10.
I really want to like S&box. I hope that with time, people can create weapons and npcs for the sandbox gamemode to make it more enjoyable in singleplayer, for the people who like setting up fights with npcs. Some of the games people have made are enjoyable, but ultimately it feels as if there are existent games that do the job better. What I want most as a person who played garrysmod prior to it releasing on steam, is for s&box to be able to do what gmod struggles with. I want to be able to place a ton of props and a ton of npcs and still have a good framerate. Right now, the only way I engage with s&box is for a few minutes every few days to collect resources in a business game. I don't know what would draw me more to the various games in s&box compared to fortnite or roblox with their amount of custom games. The character design is an issue when gmod has custom playermodel support. The cost of clothing items in s&box seems far too much when compared to a similar game platform like Roblox that has plenty of items that go for less than a dollar without feeling generic or low quality. In short this game isnt worth playing yet, hopefully with time I can change this review.
s&box as a developer tool sets high expectations, and disappoints. it's an experience hardly different than developing for unity or godot, rather than "gmod but for serious gamedev" that it seems to set itself up to. unless you have a team of developers behind you, you will need to use multiple addons in order to get even a base of a game going, which means conflicting systems and messy code you will have to fight to use. facepunch's own addons suffer from this use. level-making is as complicated as it is in other engines, and overall the documentation is spotty and at times highly outdated. the game, and the editor, are getting constant updates, so perhaps, hopefully, the experience will be better in the future, but right now you're better off with godot
"please play this game, we have made it so you can get drops, oh you wonder how you were getting drops, we need you to play 7 separate days in a row for 30 minute increments, please my family is going hungry and we need people to play this slop sequel..." edit: "we made an arcade racer in two weeks to show how easy it is, ha ha! look, please... we need to not actually lose money on the development for this one guys, we have to keep developing rust!"
I bought this as a game developer, thinking it could be an interesting platform for development, and also as a gamer, wishing to explore fun games and mabie a less disgusting, more creative and unique Roblox + happy wheels feeling game. I could not force myself to learn after exploring and seeing that the sandbox mode pulled most of my pc resources while doing nothing and the games were not better. I've not refunded on the hopes that this engine/game keeps cooking and becomes something great like I believed it would have been on launch, should be checking back on 2028 or 2030. I hope by then there will be real single player options for the games and sandbox mode, and the game dev side will be more polished and less pre-made asset store/robloxy feeling
