Rustled Pete is a very unforgiving boss fighting game. There is only one boss in the game and his name is Pete The Rustled. He has 4 forms, each one is harder than the other. Good luck!

After playing a bunch of fighting games, shooter games, music games, and intense platformers like Super Meat Boy on my other consoles, I really just wanted something to just get my reaction time and get me motivated and I saw this game 4 months ago, didn't get it since I was looking for something else Big Boy Boxing (didn't check the price) I checked again today and saw it was only 3 dollars, not much to risk so I got it, this was one of my best decisions on Steam yet, the combo system isn't too repetitive like other games with combos, first level is very fun, not too hard and once you get the pattern down, it can be beat consistently, all of the 1 hand levels aren't too bad, the 2nd one is fun but one of the hardest bosses I've ever fought, 3rd one is VERY challenging and fun, 2 hands, it feels like they were inspired by Master Hand and Crazy Hand from Smash Brothers, I literally just got to this fight and I haven't beaten it yet, I like that for most of these fights, the pattern is random enough so you can't just win every time, again, the combo system makes this game in my opinion, even without the juggling mechanic, hitting him 5 times to get a tool that stuns can be very valuable (especially when you already juggled the egg for a good while) the perfect mechanic (throwing the egg at the right time to get 2x damage) is good too and very satisfying, seeing the egg just ricochet around the room is so cool and when it hits, you can feel the intensity with that hit, I will say that if you juggle the egg for about 10 times, it becomes a little easy but good luck not choking and dropping the egg on accident, then you're back on square one. I also like that the game starts praising you for getting better in the stats menu, it just feels like the dev wants you to take out the monster that he created, I also enjoyed the humor, it's just very random like Pete's different attacks and the 2nd level's name and the death animation, reminds me of Cuphead in a way since it too was also about bosses but this feels like no matter how much you play, you still won't be getting any free wins off of studying, not that it's impossible, but in a way that it keeps things fresh without making it too random (I'm looking at you Enchanted Portals) you just have to be making last minute decisions at all times and I like that it never gets repetitive. I also like the way that the eggs only break when they touch the floor giving you more chances to nail Pete with a big hit. Super cool game and in a way, felt like something from the past (not like some of the bad soulless games that are a normality today, just more modernized) like Cuphead and Hollow Knight and even some Metroid games in a way. I would love to see another game like this or some DLC for some extra playable characters or a new Pete variant (Or a version where you work with Pete to beat something else, it could be cool to see Pete be the tools system for a level or 2). My only gripe is that sometimes, the physics can screw you by accident like getting caught behind Pete's revolver move in lvl 3 but that's not too much of an issue. I can say that this is one of my favorites already and can't wait to beat it and play it to death. It just feels like the devs just wanted to make a fun experience for players like themselves and not just a soulless cash grab like other games. Felt like a modern Wario Land/Pizza Tower type boss rush game with the egg throwing and constant platforming. Crazy fun and hopefully, something similar can come out soon.
Very nice little indie game. Reminds me of the good ol' flash days. Also a good challenge and perfect pricing.
So simple, so fun, retro vibe
Pretty fun. You get increasing damage on Pete from catching the egg and by throwing it quickly after catching. The damage resets if you drop the egg. This gives you some incentive to play carefully, but take advantage of openings. Occasionally the hitboxes don't feel right and you will get crushed even when it looks like you are out of the way.
