Rusted Moss is a twin-stick shooter metroidvania where you sling around the map with your grapple, blasting your way through witches and rusted machine monstrosities alike. This wasteland once harboring mankind has since fallen, and Fae long forgotten now knock on humanity's door...

this game is AMAZING and incredibly underrated, the grapple hook mechanic is the core of the game but the combat is really solid too, the bosses are challenging and engaging, so its fun to try over and over again (plus the music!). Overall the world and story are interesting, i like the atmosphere a lot and the looks of it all (the graphics were inspired by Rainworld, which is one of the most beautiful games made imo, theres also an easteregg referencing the protagonist of RW, a slugcat can be found on a wall in the DLC of Rusted moss). Speaking of the DLC, it really solidified my love for this game, as ive spent hours getting through it and loving every section of it (while very much so losing my mind). Its a very difficult game thats well worth your money and time and i cant wait to play Iron bramble once it comes out!!!
That was fun metroidvania. It is definitely precision platform focused, though it also has multiple combat/utility options for firearms and trinket modifiers. Mouse and keyboard is the only real way this works due to the grapple needing to be precise and quick aiming for weapon assisted jumping. (I tried controller, I was barely able to get through the first area) Also, you will fall/die ALOT; platforming can be quite fickle at times, and especially harsh for the "optional" paths. Combat wise, basic fodder enemies are moderate threat, but pretty much all of the bosses are not push-overs, and will most likely seem initially as unfair BS until you learn the movement and patterns. Story is decently interesting; gameplay challenges are all over the place in difficulty, but new/mixed-up hazards, enemies, and mechanics keep it fresh. Art/effects are solid and sound/music is pretty good, but not a stand out. I went for "almost" full completion, though some of the late game content was just too much for me. And the post-game/DLC content that you can dive into? Hah! Yeah no. There are also special speedrun and even map editor stuff. Even an alternative character mode! A solid experience that I am glad I got around to playing!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Honestly, I enjoyed the game at first. The grappling hook is an interesting mechanic, and when used well it really lets skilled players show what they can do. I wouldn't say it lets you do everything, but having some limitations is perfectly fine, it doesn't have to be completely unrestricted. However, after exploring the Lab, my enjoyment dropped significantly. That entire area is genuinely frustrating, with all those enemies you can't kill that deal a huge amount of damage. There are simply too many of them, and they're in almost every room. From that point on, the game stopped feeling like an exploration-focused metroidvania and started feeling more like a rage game, where challenge and difficulty matter more than having fun. I think there's a reason why Super Metroid is considered the greatest metroidvania of all time: instead of trying so hard to be difficult, it focuses on being as fun as possible. I hope that in your next game you'll focus on making a solid platformer that's challenging, but within reasonable limits. And please—wind is an awful gameplay mechanic
This is a really good platformer with a really fun gimmick. Swinging around as a core mechanic is a bit daunting at first but the story doesn't demand much skill so the game is pretty easily accessible. There are hard jumps and tricks and such, but those are only required in the DLC which is optional. It's also a metroidvania style game so when you get good can go pretty much wherever you want and do things in whatever order you want (and there are some achievements for this as well.) Overall, this is really fun and satisfying to play.
