Gorgeous, tight controls and fun challenges! Plays kinda like a Super Meatboy metroidvania with movement abilities and a moody setting, with an interesting story. A genuinely good game!
Awesome platforming experience! Can recommend to anyone that likes a good challenge.
Excellent Metroidvania, with a gloomy atmosphere and tight plateforming. Challenging but very rewarding.
Unbelievably polished and smooth, tough as nails, 10/10 aesthetics, 11/10 music and sound design. Not to be missed!
An hour in and far enough that I feel confident in giving a review. Immediately I really liked the presentation. Art style and theme are consistent and utilized in the gameplay. Creatures blending in and out of environment creates for some tricky rooms and fun juxtapositions against the background. I was initially less than thrilled seeing it might be a metroidvania of sorts as there is backtracking and unlock gated progression. There is a minute degree of that, but the map is well designed to account for most of the 'backtracking' being a part of the main path. There are secrets and extras you will miss and can backtrack, some backtracking is required, but it takes no time at all. Music is a consistent theme with the design with it being more minimal and basic. I might want a little more in the music, but it doesn't detract from the game at all. Now on to the platforming itself. Quite early I'm already having fun and enjoying the movement as its snappy and responsive, which is kind of a must in precision platformers. Room design is extremely varied with small rooms, medium rooms, large rooms, and extra large rooms I've encountered. Some plays with shadows, some are timed, some smooth, some are pixel perfect. Definitely try it out if you like what you see
Solid masocore platformer. Leans fairly heavily on precision for its difficulty, but outside of optional challenge levels you quickly restart at the entrance of the screen you're on. If you want a platformer that takes some inspiration from kaizo rom hacks without going that far, this is it. Good music, especially in terms of establishing the intended ambiance. Rough in places in the way actual small indie projects often are, but no persistent or game-breaking bugs (thus far). No in-game map from what I can tell, and either no or very limited fast-travel (unsure). Lots of hidden coins to find, good at establishing a consistent vibe that lets you intuit where some are likely stashed. Coins unlock the challenge levels, the challenge levels give a second collectible when completed, and there's a third collectible to track down as well. I have unlocked something to indicate how finished with an area I am, and thus far have seen the credits once and have most areas cleared (though only two challenge courses thus far). Solid recommend if you want something of the genre.
Amazing Platformer, good art, ok music, Worth it, from the hour i played
A fabulous wee precision platformer! I love its gloomy aesthetic. The movement is satisfying and the controls are responsive, although look out for the harsh (but fair, once you get used to them) hit boxes on spikes and other obstacles. The level design is excellent, both on each individual screen, and the world as a whole (which has some metroidvania-type progression baked into it). Quick respawns get you back into the action quickly, and the creepy little story is engaging. Plus, there's lots of secret areas to find, and extra challenges to take on (these harder sections are embedded into the world seamlessly). This is a remarkable achievement for a solo developer.
You can feel the love the dev put into this game. Great movement and music. One of the best precision platformer metroidvanias out there.
