It's a party game, and I'm pretty much a party of one. However, even though I've only played this single-player, I've absolutely enjoyed it! When I first got Runbow, it was on the Wii U (yes, I've known about it for that long!), and I played every mode (I even tried Behemoth, but never finished it). Now that I have it on Steam, I'm gonna be playing it all over again to try and get every achievement - barring the multiplayer ones, because... well, no one wants to play this game with me. 😔 Runbow is an unique platformer, because some objects are affected by the color of the backdrop. If the same color platforms, lasers, etc. match the backdrop, they disappear, but when the background changes color, they reappear. This gives it a playing style that I don't think has been tried before or since this game's release. Your goal in most of the game is to get a trophy, though sometimes it's to defeat monsters or collect coins. The levels in Adventure Mode + Satura's Space Adventure are quite challenging. You will need to use your boost occasionally to clear wide gaps, reach high spaces, and avoid rows of spikes. Be prepared to die a lot. 😅 Thankfully, the individual courses are not very long, and can be completed in a few seconds, but hit spikes or fall in a pit, and you're back at the starting point of each level. As I've said before, I've never cleared Behemoth mode. You traverse through the belly of a large dinosaur, and you're supposed to clear it in one run - there is no saving at any point, although you will respawn at the start of each section if you make a mistake. Since I have yet to reach the end, I will attempt it again on Steam for sure! Customizing the characters is fun, choosing amongst the "Hues" (guys) or "Vals" (girls) and their outfits. Several characters from other indie game franchises also appear in this game, like Rusty from Steamworld Dig, Shantae from the Shantae series, and Max from Mutant Mudds, to name a few. As I've said, this is a party game, so there's multiplayer baked in. You can either play cooperatively or competitively, depending on the mode you choose. You can also play online, supposedly, but even when this game was popular, I never could figure out how to get anyone online interested in playing, so I doubt it'll be worth your time unless you announce somewhere (where people are interested in playing this game) that you're looking for players. Overall, I'm very glad I got this game again! I'd definitely recommend to someone who likes a good 2D platforming challenge! 😁
Buggy mess made by people who have only ever played games and never made one themselves.
This game runs like ♥♥♥♥. None of the controls are intuitive and are impossible to rebind to more convenient keys. Wasted time trying to join a group just in a room to play and then no one could even figure out how anything worked.
A strange but enjoyable little platformer. A cute little story and a neat artstyle make for a fun little game that won't take you long to beat, but with the time you do have with it you'll enjoy.
underrated game. used to play it all the time on my friend's xbox.. didn't play nearly as much on steam. so awesome wish more ppl knew about it! Fun, cool idea and well executed
Only reviewing the single-player content since that's all I played. I beat both modes in just under 3hrs but I didn't do all the levels in Adventure mode so I'd say at least another hour to hour and a half of single-player content. And if you go for 3 medals in each level that'll also easily expand playtime! The main mechanic in the game is actually really cool and creative and leads to some neat level designs that makes you have to think ahead a bit and remember the different layers to anticipate which platforms you should use! Adventure mode has a ton of cool levels some getting pretty tricky towards the end! Overall not too difficult, but still fun! Bowhemoth mode is also cool! No level select though so if you quit midway through you have to start from the beginning so make sure you have about an hour and a half to set aside before you start it (I finished in 1:06:06 with 240 deaths). Also a lot of fun except one level that took about 30 minutes of attempts to get get through -_- Does control slightly janky, but overall still fun enough to recommend (while it's on sale of course XD)!
Jogo bacana pra jogar com a galera em casa
This game is quite challenging with controls that are kinda finicky. The platformer level design is genius-level with the diverse elements they come up with, probably the best I've seen in a game.
W game
A fun little multiplayer game to play with friends in short bursts. There isn't a ton to it, but the mechanics are solid, the modes give a little variety, and the skins and guest characters are fun to earn and play with. Worth it if you need a party game for a lot of people. There is a solo mode that I haven't delved too deep into either, but seems like it adds a lot of extra value as well.
