Good Game
One of my favourite games on the Wii U. I've never really had much people to play with but if you have a big friend group I highly recommend trying it

Runbow is a vibrant multiplayer platformer developed and published by 13AM Games that distinguishes itself with one of the most imaginative gameplay mechanics in the genre. At first glance, it appears to be a traditional side-scrolling racing game, but the constantly shifting background colors dramatically alter the environment throughout every match. Platforms, walls, and hazards sharing the active background color disappear from the stage, forcing players to react instantly as safe paths become dangerous and previously inaccessible routes suddenly open. This clever concept transforms every race into an unpredictable contest where awareness and quick thinking are just as important as platforming skill. The game places a heavy emphasis on multiplayer competition, supporting large groups both locally and online. Whether players are sprinting toward the finish line, battling in arena-style matches, or fighting for control of specific objectives, every mode encourages frantic interaction and constant movement. The straightforward control scheme makes it easy for newcomers to participate, while experienced players can master advanced movement techniques and strategic positioning to gain an edge. Matches are fast-paced and energetic, creating an atmosphere that feels equally suited for casual parties and highly competitive gatherings. Although multiplayer serves as the centerpiece, Runbow offers far more than a collection of competitive game modes. Its Adventure Mode delivers a lengthy single-player and cooperative campaign featuring well over a hundred handcrafted stages connected through an expansive world map. The campaign steadily introduces fresh environmental challenges while expanding upon the core color-changing mechanic, ensuring that each new level presents different puzzles and platforming situations. Instead of acting as a simple tutorial, the adventure stands as a rewarding experience that gradually tests precision, timing, and adaptability. Players seeking even greater challenges will find plenty to enjoy through additional content designed for veterans. The Bowhemoth presents an enormous platforming course filled with demanding obstacles that require patience, precise execution, and excellent teamwork when played cooperatively. This mode shifts the focus away from direct competition and instead rewards persistence through increasingly difficult platforming sequences. Combined with the main campaign, it provides a substantial amount of content for players who enjoy mastering difficult stages beyond multiplayer sessions. Replay value remains exceptionally strong thanks to an abundance of unlockable rewards and customization options. Completing challenges unlocks costumes, concept artwork, collectibles, and a large roster of guest characters representing numerous beloved independent games. These crossover appearances give the game additional personality while celebrating the wider indie gaming community. Achievement hunters also have numerous objectives to pursue, providing long-term incentives to revisit both solo and multiplayer modes. Runbow's presentation perfectly complements its gameplay philosophy. Its colorful visual style remains clean and readable even during the most chaotic moments, allowing players to immediately recognize changing platforms and hazards without becoming overwhelmed by visual effects. Character animations are expressive, and the soundtrack maintains an energetic pace that enhances the excitement of every race and battle. Rather than relying on graphical realism, the game succeeds through strong artistic direction and visual clarity that directly supports its unique mechanics. Accessibility is another notable strength. The responsive controls are easy to understand, making the game approachable for players of varying skill levels. Fully customizable control options and broad controller compatibility allow users to tailor the experience to their preferences. While beginners can quickly learn the basics, mastering movement, timing jumps around disappearing platforms, and anticipating color changes provides enough depth to keep experienced platforming fans engaged for many hours. The game is not entirely without shortcomings. Those primarily interested in single-player experiences may find that the excitement naturally peaks when competing alongside friends or online opponents. Likewise, the unpredictable nature of the color-changing stages can occasionally lead to frustrating eliminations that feel unavoidable during particularly hectic matches. However, these moments are largely a consequence of the game's intentionally chaotic design and rarely overshadow the creativity behind its central mechanic. Runbow succeeds because it builds every aspect of its design around a single innovative idea and executes it with confidence. The constantly evolving stages keep every match fresh, while the generous amount of content, varied multiplayer modes, extensive campaign, challenging bonus levels, and wealth of unlockables ensure lasting appeal. Developed and published by 13AM Games, it remains one of the most inventive multiplayer platformers on Steam, delivering an experience that is accessible, endlessly entertaining, and highly replayable for both casual players and dedicated platforming enthusiasts. Rating: 8/10
A fun little multiplayer game to play with friends in short bursts. There isn't a ton to it, but the mechanics are solid, the modes give a little variety, and the skins and guest characters are fun to earn and play with. Worth it if you need a party game for a lot of people. There is a solo mode that I haven't delved too deep into either, but seems like it adds a lot of extra value as well.
