I wanted to like this game but it gets too boring too quickly. It doesn't have much going for it either. There no achivements to even grind for. Would love to see more games that combine 2 completely genres into a single entity, this one ain't it tho.

「STR(物理攻撃力とボールの飛距離が上昇)」 「INT(ボールのスピンに影響、魔法の威力も上昇)」 「PRC(MPの最大値が上昇、敵にこちらの攻撃が当たる確率が上昇し、ボールを打つ時のバーの動きがスローになる)」 「DEF(防御力が上昇し、ボールが風の影響を受けにくくなる)」

Short, simple and funny game for a few hours. Nice combination of ARPG (on a rather simple approach) and golf (on a rather simple approach as well). An small world to explore, full of monsters (that lack on variety very fast), a few dungeons (most of them with the same background) with a few golf challenges on them, and 9 holes that become 18 after you reduce your handicap enough (9 holes and 9 variations, different enough to make them a nice challenge). However, the combat is very easy (the charge attack is too powerfull against almost everything and to cheap to use) even if the bosses offer a nice change, where you have to learn their patterns to avoid them and hit when they are vulnerable (during the full game, and even the postgame, I died only once). The golf part is also easy once you get a few shots to see how it works (where to aim, how much power to use...), as you will be always shooting where you are aiming quite effortless. Still, while it last, is fun to play. Some notes and tips: Level up strengh more than the rest: there is level cap (level 42, quite random) and you may realise you can't lower your scores just because you can't shoot far away enough. I managed to get a handicap of 5 and is as low as I can go (also, you can't re-spec [DEVS, this would be rather usefull]. Don't worry about money: if you battle through the encounters you normally find, you will always have enough money for plenty of items and the new clubs. Beating the game is not the end: you can unlock a few additional dungeons, up to 6 new clubs (including the ultimate club and one club that completely trivialize the combat) and, if you lower your handicap enough, you get the alternate version of the 9 holes.
Follow our curator page: IndieGems if you like and want to see more reviews like this one.

Short Version
A short and fun game that tries to combine golf and action RPG elements. Of course this is not the first game to try to do this, and it is not the best. It falls a bit short on both the golf and the action RPG parts, but it was fun enough for me to come back to keep playing the game. There is a mobile version for dollar cheaper, but I did not play that one and cannot offer any contrasting commentary between the two.
Long Version
The game begins with a really difficult to say name, mainly because that "G" in the title, how do you want to say this? RPG-olf, RP-Golf, or RPG-Golf? I have just no idea. This game features a small-ish world map that is a 9-hole golf course and your quest is to go from hole to hole, making good enough scores in order to move ahead, challenge the subsequent dungeons and holes, in order to bring Golf, the greatest sport of the land, back to its glory days. The game is rather heavy on the action RPG aspect, and less so on the golf. The 9 holes available is really all of the golf, and there are some smaller in-dungeon golf-related elements, but they are fairly minor in general. After you manage to lower your handicap a certain amount, you unlock a modified version of the course, and that gives you a little bit more golf. The graphics are quite nice, looks very befitting of a retro-style to the SNES era game. The music was perhaps a bit subpar, pun intended. The rest of the game involves simple hack-n-slash in 3/4 view (almost top-down) using your golf club in place of a sword or blunt weapon, and you pick up golf-related items that act as magical items for an active ability that drain your mana. There is an arbitrary level cap at 42, probably because it is the answer. Each level you get a couple of points to put toward your few attributes, and you also gain some total HP and MP per level. After playing, I still do not know what the best way to distribute these points are, but
I found the points into Strength is probably the most important.
Unfortunately the non-boss enemies were quite generic, very rhythmic movements and predictable attacks. They were not challenging at all. The bosses can get frustrating until you learn their patterns, and I can't say that I a huge fan of the really large hit boxes at times. Some boss attacks are too difficult for me to dodge, and so I ended up dying a few times. Not a big deal, since there are save points at the beginning of every hole and every dungeon, and all of the regional maps are rather small. The bosses are all pattern based, so not terribly difficult once you learn them. You cannot casually play golf in this game, you have to go through the dungeons at least once in order to progress from section to section. The writing in this game is fairly minimal, but I was really amused by the initial dialogue in the tutorial as well as the small amounts of NPC interactions throughout the game. The writing is rather witting in short spurts. I do like the minimap for this game, there is the world map that tells you the general direction of your next objective. And then for each region that you are currently in, there is a mini-map that you can look at. It shows you the locations of all of the different monsters on the screen, as well as any chests in the map, and dungeon entrances. Within the dungeons, you have a much smaller line of sight, and you have to try to maneuver around this. Not too difficult. If you encounter a boss fight, the black shroud lifts and you can see the entire screen. It is worth noting that the key mapping only shows up for keyboard, but you can play with a controller, and the controller functions are fairly intuitive and easy to figure out, but you do need to mash a few buttons to figure out what each one does. It would be great if they could fix this to show controller mapping once you decide to play with one. The in-game menu is a little odd, as you can only use left and right keys to move your cursor, which is clearly showing a series of menu selections vertically. This really bugged me, not enough to get me to stop playing, but why not fix it? Also the biggest bug I encountered involves dying and reloading, sometimes the game would freeze or stay on the main menu when you select continue. The music moves along, but the display doesn't follow. There is also no button to quit the game to desktop. When in the title menu, the Escape key on the keyboard does this, but you cannot quit from the controller. I suppose this is a residual sign from the mobile port over. So as you can see, this game is not perfect, but still, I had quite a bit of fun. I would give the game 6/10.
I received the product for free. Decided to have a go at it since it wasn't expensive. Disappointed. I found the actual "Golf" aspect of it to be far too easy, eagling 2 of the first 3 holes and birding the other. Where is my RPG in that? The RPG element was more of a Zelda style top down combat, but with horrible combat controls, moves which were all but impossible to avoid, and no simple way to block (you have to time your golf swing with their attack to block it, and there is no doding. On top of all this the keys are mapped poorly, and there is no indication of which keys to use to even start the game. For future reference, use the arrow keys. Z = action or attack, X = magic or cancel, C = character screen, D = Map. I couldn't even start a new game without randomly hitting keys. Wont be playing this game again after dying to the frog.
It's a pretty simple and easy mobile port which doesn't end up being very fun. They attempted, here and there, to make it less apparent that it was made for phones first, but they don't do it very well. It does have controller support, but they only ever display keyboard controls. The controller still works just fine though. Combat isn't really engaging and is tremendously inconsistent with regards to hit boxes, which lead to me getting hit a lot more than I ever should have. The golfing element is slightly more fun, but still not really difficult after you get used to it and get a few levels. The graphics are nice, if rather generic by and large, and the music/SFX top out at around mediocre. I got this for $1, got about an hour of gameplay before I got bored, and I honestly overpaid. Avoid it entirely. There are better RPGs, better golf games, and better values on Steam.
I was super interested in this game knowing the intent behind it being a golfing RPG game, heck no this ain't nothing on those mix of genre's. Dev should feel appalled to release this, simply put it feels like an amateur's attempt to a gameboy advance game, whilst also having more bugs than my nan's grave. I also can't believe this Dev has released a sequel for a ludicrous price, hell no, don't give a penny to this team - they don't know what they're doing or what works within the genre's they're apparently interested in. This game is not a Mario Golf RPG replacement, it's a poor-man's drug replacement whilst reinforcing why the drug-addict is still intent on taking those same drugs. It'll only reinforce their problem, it couldn't even touch the sides on taking them away from the crack they want, they'll only want more crack whilst bemoaning how bad this was as a replacement. SHEESH.
