It's great
10/10 Still a go to game when you just wanna build and have fun. Better than the newer ones by far and still holds up so well. Gotta love locking your mascot in jail and launching guests into the moon.

Simply put: a generational title. I have and enjoy RCT’s largest successors, don’t get me wrong. Planet Coaster is a much-needed modernization of what RCT3 did and Parkitect similarly made classic RCT1/2 more accessible and customizable in 3D. If possible, I recommend picking these up too. But even with its age and clunk, there is a kind of charm in its equal simplicity and complexity that makes this game so addicting. The business management side helps to keep the game fresh and to encourages both creativity and pragmatism. You can make all sorts of manic rides, but scenarios help stress-test designs to determine what people actually ride, and encourage theming to fit whatever park you’re working with. It also goes without saying that OpenRCT2 is a must from a QoL standpoint. It makes the game scalable with modern hardware and adds things like a day/night cycle and dynamic lighting to add more life to the game. In the way that OpenTTD gave that Sawyer classic legs, this keeps this one in tip-top shape. Go-karts are still busted, but, to be fair, I also love go-karts.
Goated game, absolute classic childhood memories upscaled for newer OS :D
