_____________8__88_____8 ____________88_8__8_____8 ___________888_____88___88888 __________8888______88_8____88 _________8888_______88______8_8 _________8888_______88______8_8 _________8888_______8_______8 _________8888_____8_______8 __________88888____8______8 ___________8888888______8 __888_________88888_8 8888888________88_____ _8888888_______8_____ __888888_______88_____ ___88_____8_____8_____ ____8______8____8_____8_88 _______8888_8__88_8_88888 _____888888_8_88__8888888 ____8888888__88______88888 ____88888_____8_________888 ____88_________8__________8 _____8_________8_____ _______________8_____ ____________8_8_____ _____________88_8_____ ______________88_____ ______________8_____
good game but REALLY needs to fix the hitbox.
I have delayed writing this review for a very long time. Not because I did not know what to say. Quite the opposite. I feared that the English language simply did not possess the necessary vocabulary to accurately describe what I was experiencing. How does one review Drunken Wrestlers 2? Would you ask a caveman to review fire? Would you ask the first man to walk upon the moon to rate the moon out of ten? Would you ask Michelangelo to leave a Steam review for the Sistine Chapel? Some things transcend criticism. Some things simply *are*. Drunken Wrestlers 2 is one of those things. I first downloaded this game expecting little more than a mildly amusing physics sandbox—a novelty to play with friends for an evening before moving on. What I actually downloaded was a revelation. A religious experience. A sacred text written not in words, but in broken noses, ragdoll collisions, and men who appear to have consumed an amount of alcohol that would instantly kill a rhinoceros. I have played video games for most of my life. I have journeyed across fantastical worlds. I have slain dragons. I have saved galaxies. I have overthrown tyrants, defeated gods, and rewritten the fabric of reality itself. None of those experiences prepared me for the emotional devastation of watching my fully grown, heavily customized fighter confidently stride toward his opponent, trip over absolutely nothing, perform an involuntary backflip, kick himself in the face, and lose consciousness before a single punch had even been thrown. I sat in stunned silence. Then I laughed. Then I laughed harder. Then I laughed so hard that I genuinely became concerned for my cardiovascular health. I am an adult. A functioning member of society. I pay taxes. I have responsibilities. And yet this game has repeatedly reduced me to tears. Real tears. The ugly kind. The kind where you make sounds that no human being should ever make. The kind where you are no longer laughing *at* something but have become laughter itself. My friends no longer ask if I want to play Drunken Wrestlers 2. They ask if I am emotionally prepared. Because once this game begins, normal human behavior ceases. Civilization collapses. Language breaks down. Within minutes, every participant has regressed to an almost prehistoric state, communicating exclusively through screaming, pointing at the screen, and phrases such as: "HOW DID THAT HIT ME?" "GET UP." "NO WAY." "HE'S STILL CONSCIOUS?" "WHAT JUST HAPPENED?" and, perhaps most commonly, "I CANNOT BREATHE." But beneath the beautiful chaos lies something extraordinary. Depth. Real, honest-to-goodness mechanical depth. This is not merely a joke game. This is not merely a physics sandbox. This is not merely "haha ragdoll funny." No. Drunken Wrestlers 2 is secretly, insidiously, one of the most compelling and skill-based fighting games I have ever touched. At first, you flail. Everyone flails. You are born into this world weak, confused, and unable to remain upright for more than six consecutive seconds. But slowly, almost imperceptibly, you improve. You begin understanding momentum. Spacing. Timing. Stamina management. Balance. You start reading opponents. You bait attacks. You counter. You adapt. You evolve. And one day, after dozens or hundreds of hours, something miraculous occurs. You realize that you are no longer controlling a drunken ragdoll. You have *become* the drunken ragdoll. The boundary between player and character dissolves. You stop fighting against the physics. You flow with them. You achieve enlightenment. I am not exaggerating when I say that this game has fundamentally altered my understanding of what interactive entertainment can be. Before Drunken Wrestlers 2, I believed games required realistic graphics, cinematic storytelling, orchestral soundtracks, and vast open worlds to achieve greatness. I was wrong. All humanity ever truly needed was two catastrophically intoxicated individuals attempting to punch each other while operating under the laws of a deeply amused universe. The replayability is infinite. Not "very high." Not "hundreds of hours." Infinite. I am convinced that if humanity survives for another thousand years, people will still be discovering new and increasingly ridiculous ways to accidentally knock themselves unconscious in this game. I have recommended this game to friends. I have gifted this game. I have evangelized this game. I have interrupted unrelated conversations simply to mention this game. At this point I am less a player and more a missionary. My relationships have changed. My worldview has changed. My understanding of physics has changed. Sometimes, late at night, when the world is quiet, I close my eyes and I can still see it. A spinning ragdoll. An impossible uppercut. A body moving in ways forbidden by both medicine and common sense. Perfection. I genuinely believe future historians will divide human history into two distinct eras: B.D.W.2 (Before Drunken Wrestlers 2) and A.D.W.2 (After Drunken Wrestlers 2). Entire university courses will someday be dedicated to studying this masterpiece. Children will ask their grandparents where they were when they first experienced Drunken Wrestlers 2. Statues will be erected. Songs will be written. Empires will rise and fall. Stars themselves will burn out. And still, somewhere, somehow, a drunken ragdoll will stumble forward, throw the world's slowest haymaker, and accidentally achieve greatness. Absolute masterpiece. Transcendent. Life-changing. Game of the Year. Game of the Decade. Game of the Century. Game of the Millennium. Game of Human Existence. 10/10. Would abandon civilization to play again.
