Roguecraft DX is a turn-based roguelike set in a Lovecraftian dungeon that rebuilds itself every run. Fight tentacled horrors and scary chickens, and free a caged badger who'll fetch loot for you. Compact runs that respect your time: die, learn, and dive right back in!

About
Pick one of three heroes and descend into the dungeon, fighting your way down one floor at a time. Every level is generated fresh, so no two attempts play the same. When you die, you start over from the top.
Roguecraft DX takes about five minutes to learn. Getting good at it takes rather longer.
The critically acclaimed modern Amiga classic, now on PC.

Yes, if:
You want a roguelike you can pick up without reading a manual
You'd rather a run took half an hour than a whole evening
You'd like your first character to actually stand a chance
You think a badger following you through a Lovecraftian dungeon is a good idea
Probably not, if:
You're here for deep item identification, hunger clocks, inventory management and a hundred-key verb set. We built a deliberately compact system instead.

In Roguecraft, each of the three playable heroes brings a unique play-style and special abilities to the fight. They also represent different difficulty levels, so choose wisely! The Warrior delivers crushing blows, the Rogue blinks behind enemies for deadly backstabs, and the Wizard may be fragile, but unleashes powerful magic missiles.
Choosing a hero is choosing how hard the challenge is going to be.

Somewhere down there is a cage. Open it, pick up what's inside, give it a good scratch behind the ears, and it goes into your inventory until you need it.
Summon your familiar and it'll fight beside you and fetch loot you can't reach, but only for a handful of turns. It's there to get you out of a tight spot. Knowing when to let it out is half the trick.
Yes, one of them is a badger.

Classic Mode
Play the original procurerally generated 15-level dungeon, fight your way through its depths, and defeat the boss at the end.
Endless Dungeon Mode
Looking to prove yourself? Enter the Endless Dungeon, where the challenges get progressively tougher the deeper you go.
Chicken Run Mode
Want a tough challenge with a fun twist? Play as a Chick Un and see how far you can make it!

Every descent is unique. The dungeon reshapes itself with every run, ensuring a fresh challenge and new surprises each time you play.

Designed to respect your time, most runs last between 30–40 minutes, perfect for a focused session or a quick escape.
Every descent is generated fresh: new rooms, new routes, new ways to die. Unlabelled potions you probably shouldn't drink. Secret rooms you'll only find if you're paying attention.

Hand crafted isometric pixel art in the tradition it came from, every monster, shadow and flagstone placed deliberately. The dungeon oozes atmosphere, and the chickens have considerably more personality than strictly necessary.

For time immemorial a legend has been told of a dark, deadly dungeon containing unimaginable horrors and riches beyond belief. Enough riches and magic to make you a king, THE king even.
Tales of the dungeon was found in an ancient Egyptian library many years ago. The scrolls told rumors of an ancient dark presence and a magic amulet. The legend also tells of a wakening and of horrors to come. Your search carried you across the world - one riddle leading to the next.
Finally you are standing at the entrance of a dark and mystical dungeon. You, Zendar, a warrior, a wizard, or uhm, a rogue… are ready to defeat the monsters and gather the riches waiting below!
You just need to take a leak first.
Step into the dungeon. Embrace the unknown. The depths of Mordecoom await!

Originally developed in Assembly for the Commodore Amiga, Roguecraft has been faithfully ported to PC, preserving its authentic retro charm while bringing the experience to modern systems.

Ca fait du bien un p'tit rogue like "à l'ancienne".
Great conversion of the original Amiga game. Love the music too!

Gem of an actual retro game. The game is simple because it is modelled after the games of old for the C64, Amiga etc and it has actually been released for a ton of retro systems like that. Does what it says on the box extremely well, looks amazing and the sound is also top notch. For retro games enthusiasts, this is a must.
This is a great pick up and play game. I’ve played this and own the physical version on another platform. I’ve picked it up again because a) it’s a good game and b) there are different features added to this version including a familiar. If you like rogue like gameplay in which you need to think a little about the next move and also something that won’t take all evening to work out. Then this is the game for you, it definitely has that one more go feel. Well done!
Pokud tedy máte tento styl rogue-like her rádi, grafika vás neuráží a rádi si zavzpomínáte na doby dávno minulé, berte všemi deseti.
With its striking aesthetic and brutally challenging retro roguelike roots, Roguecraft DX delivers an experience that is equal parts absolute blast and pure controller-gripping frustration.
👌
Made it to level 5. Got killed by a mutant chicken.
Really charming rogue-style game that has a little bit of a steep learning curve but a manageable one (as expected). After one or two playthroughs you should get the hang of it and be able to make good risk-reward judgements. I do wish it was possible to use enemies to block ranged attacks; I feel like as it is, it lacks strategic depth in the later stages. But overall having a lot of fun in these runs. Plays great on my deck as well.
