About
From the creators of Black Mesa: When the richest CEO on Earth dies, cutthroat conglomerates seek to carve up his kingdom. Using the MERX app, rival tycoons can order private mercenary armies as easily as takeout, making them perfect soldiers for the corporate war! Only Rogue Point, an elite vigilante squad, dares to fight back.

Dive into an adrenaline-fueled campaign where explosive co-op firefights meet strategic planning. Team up, gather intel, complete objectives, and battle through dynamic missions. Earn skills and upgrade weapons to confront the 5 Star Mercenary, a lethal contractor who will test the limits of your team.

Fight and maneuver your way through missions spread across 4 diverse locations:

The Mall
The Office
The Oilrig
Each sprawling map is reshaped by the game's Parametric Design System, offering new strategies and challenges with every play. The constantly evolving gameplay ensures every mission feels as thrilling and unique as your first, keeping the excitement alive in every campaign.

Each MERX class has their own AI playstyle that packs a punch in their own unique way.
Not to be underestimated, the soldier is the workhorse of the MERX squads. Soldiers will utilize their environment and work with other squad units to challenge Rogue Point head on.
Juiced up on substances and with no regard for their own life, the Berserker's singular goal is to close the distance and slice your whole team with a machete. They are agents of chaos and will wreck your carefully crafted game plan.
Heavily fortified in the far distance, snipers will pin your team down and deny you entry into important areas. Their only tell is the laser beam from their gun, and your teammate’s head exploding next to you.
Quick-footed and fast-talking, the Lookout disrupts your squad with flashbangs and relentless hit-and-run tactics.
Heavies are big, slow brutes that don’t take cover and eat bullets. You can dump all your ammo into them with no effect. Run the other way, or find their one weakness.
These legendary MERX have received the top-tier 5-star rating in the app. They should be approached with caution, and treated as extremely dangerous to you and your team. Intel on these MERX is sketchy, but we know that these endgame encounters will require your team’s full strength to have a chance to take them down.

I mean.. it's not a terrible game, if you compare it to games from the late 90's and very early 2000's. But by todays standards and competition, its not great either. I mean R6 Vegas had better A.I. that used tactics and cover, and that was in 2006. The A.I. in this game literally just rushes you the moment you get spotted like they have no self preservation at all, which would be fine if this was marketed as an Arcade shooter and not a semi-tactical shooter. None of the guns really feel good to shoot either.. they're all very samey imo. This last gripe is kinda irrelevant to the broad score I would give the game but the customization is pretty meh as well. Everything is just kinda... meh. So, 5/10 I guess. I don't normally refund games because i like to wait an see if the developers will ever fix any of the more glaring issues, but this team has already moved on to a new game so... I think I'll just wait to see if they've improved at all when their new game releases.
This game is very confusing. It tries to treat itself like a tactical shooter in the vein of SWAT 4 and Ready or Not, with there being all of these tactical equipment designed to disrupt and predict your enemies. The problem is that the core gameplay does not support this playstyle at all since it's basically a run and gunner. Enemies are not a threat by themselves, instead they just mob you like crazy (spawning literally behind you sometimes), and have basic AI. Compare this to SWAT where, while the AI was still not crazy, they were an actual threat. A single dude in that game can put you down very quickly, which alongside the slow pacing of the game, made you have to act tactically. Predicting and planning around the enemy was actually important since they were a threat that occupied space. In Rouge Point the enemies aren't a serious threat by themselves, they don't really occupy space since they will just swarm you, and the game pace is so fast that you don't need to be tactical. It's just better (and feels better) to rush enemies and shoot them like you're playing a crappy counter strike custom level. I still enjoy the game, but I think for most people this is the worst of both worlds. The run and shoot gameplay is ok, but not strong enough to carry the simple gameplay loop. The tactical gameplay doesn't really matter since you don't need to plan at all. Planning just slows the game down without much pay off. The writing is also whatever, with the general vibe being that there's no identity to the game. It's not bad, it's just that there's literally nothing there. Still, if you're just looking for cheap shooter, it's alright. I don't mind the issues that much, but I think for most people there are games that focus on parts of this one that are more enjoyable.
The game is shallow af. It can't decide if it wants to be an arcade shooter or a tactical shooter, the AI is SO BAD, characters throw out one-liners after every kill, but the trailer tries to portray it as a slow tactical shooter like Ready Or Not.
Honestly for the price there's a really neat little game here. A bit rough around the edges but I like a lot of what its doing mechanically. I hope the team continues to build upon what they have here.
I bought the game expecting a RON style tactical shooter, but that's not exactly what I got. What I ended up being a unique blend of fast paced action and a tactical shooter, which isn't a bad thing. Both playstyles are viable both having drawbacks. Playing like it's new a COD game can clear levels fast however you can find yourself in a bad situation quick or you could play it slow and conserve your health but there are a few objectives that require you to rush like the bomb. Another positive about this game is the team knows what they are doing. Their previous work on Black Mesa and the care and attention they gave to that is here as well through the level design, cosmetics, and firearms. The maps themselves have a fair amount of open areas and corridors along with obstacles like locked doors or trip wires. The cosmetics are great, they have a fair share of modern tactical gear along with a few retro ones too, but the best thing is they're free aside from the HECU inspired one. Finally the fire arms. They may not have the real names of them but here's the thing, they are modeled off the real deal no COD half ass fictional bullcrap real looking firearms with a few added things like rails. With all this there a quite a few cons. A lack of content, there's not a lot of objective and the maps despite being made well cutting them into parts doesn't really help when it comes to verity especially when some just overlap rather than being like two or three separate maps. an example I can use is the airport. It could have been separated from the main building, baggage handling, and possibly the runway. however the biggest offender is the office there is no variation to this map at all just one layout even down to a locked door in the corner of the map. Last thing is the personal upgrades, being able to boost your heath, ammo reserves, and starter cash. I should not have enough money to buy MP7 right at the start, that just saps any difficulty this game has at the beginning. I feel like things like this should be left to the perks. Aside from that I feel like Crowbar Collective has made something special and I have enjoyed my time with it even though I'm playing it solo. This game honestly does not deserve to have less than concurrent 30 players.
Let me start with this - the game is everything the devs say it is. Granted, it is still in early access, but as a player that does not like extraction shooters, I am having copious amounts of fun! Wanna fool around with friends and cause meyhem - go right in! Wanna be all tacticool and clear corners like the top-tier operator you are - absolutely! You are the guy that collects every possible loot item on the map - yes, you can and nothing can stop you! Either solo or co-op you will be having fun and just find yourself enjoying the game. Oh, the soundtrack is absolutely babngin' as well! 13/10 - in love with this game and I can't recommend it enough. The devs have ample content to shwo their dedication and quality of work, so check them out!
