YU SUZUKI. That's why you should buy this game. If this is the iconic developer's final game in his life, it's a love letter to the fans and the game he made his arcade debut with and made him synonymous with Sega for decades-Space Harrier (okay, and countless others). I actually found this first on Apple Arcade but they removed it in May 2025 because it hadn't been updated in over 2 years (**** Apple for that) then I found it here so I immediately brought it. This version does the game justice and blows even the Apple TV 4K version away, if you've got a GPU that can handle it then it's going to look incredible. The soundtrack you'll either love or hate depending on your taste for Queen but it's a perfect fit here. The game is also deep with a lot of unlockables and extra game modes. It's a slower-paced Space Harrier so it's easier at first and also easy to pick up and play with either a controller or mouse. I'm biased as a fan of Suzuki's works but this, if it indeed is the curtain call of one of the most legendary developers in gaming history, is an epic finale. Money well spent for me! PS-make sure your GPU meets the recommended specs in the requirements. You'll need it!
Dude, what in the world is this soundtrack? It doesn't fit the action at all. The game isn't terrible or anything, it's a decent Space Harrier/Panzer Dragoon clone, but the ill-fitting music completely ruins it. It's hilarious how different the vibe of the game is to that of the trailer.
I really like this game. I played it first on Apple Arcade, then on Nintendo Switch and now I finally got the PC version. I'm happy to announce that it supports the maximum frame rate of my monitor - 144hz. Maybe if your monitor supports more you will have more frame rates. Very cool art, fun and challenging gameplay and great music. I also like that while you play, you unlock costumes, upgrades, weapons... But most of all, a detailed history of the world in which the action takes place. Outside of the "Story mode", there is also an arcade mode for high scores without upgrades. There are also various mini-games for variety in the extras. Every Yu Suzuki fan from the arcade days will enjoy this game. We are very lucky that he is still in shape and making new games. I hope we'll see more from Ysnet and of course -> LetsGetShenmue4!
I didnt know i liked on rails shooters. Game ♥♥♥♥♥. Music didn't need to go that hard.
Mediocre!
>5 minutes in >"this music is jarring and unfitting" >10 minutes later >back to settings and turn Music Volume to max Just like Marvel Vs Capcom 2 Game is fun, game looks fine, game runs good, and the lady is cute. Its that simple. Not even a fan of this genre but I very much enjoyed this. Feels pretty easy at the start but does pick up around Stage 7. Even more so once you start unlocking things on the Adventure Map. At base 25 dollars though I do think thats a tough buy. You can beat Story mode around 2 hours honestly, less if you are a god gamer. This game does go on sale though for less than 10(I think I got this for 8 dollars USD), which I think is a great price.
yu suzuki still got it feels like a natural successor to space harrier as if decades somehow never passed since the original. most of my issues are with the visuals, mainly bullet visibility, they can get lost in all the bright glowing colors. depth perception still remains an issue just as it did for me in space harrier. the sound cues are clear, so you can at least rely on that. all my other complaints are largely nitpicking, e.g. the unmistakable sheen and motion blur of modern unreal engine. the music will be contentious for some lol. it's definitely a unique choice. i wasn't expecting not-queen to start playing on the main menu. some of the tracks are a little too broadway for my tastes but there's some bangers in here. i might be a valensia fan now. hard to explain but this feels truer to the spirit of the 80s than most modern retro throwbacks. basically if you want classic arcade shooting action that you can hop in and replay at any time this is where its at.
I had this game sitting in my library for months and hadn’t touched it. What a mistake! This game is an audio-visual experience that massaged my brain with its surreal imagery and Queen-esque soundtrack, flooding my dumb brain with happy, happy dopamine chemicals. I don’t want to oversell it, but I have really enjoyed it. Yu Suzuki is a master of his craft, and I can only hope he keeps making games. Because even though it might look like a mobile game, this is truly a piece of art. 9/10 (not for everyone but worth experiencing for the right price) Also, I recommend using mouse and keyboard controls, and turning down the sound effects volume for the best experience.
what in the Queen did i just play points off for the 'default ue4 project' shader setup
