Then Rogue Aces is the right game for you. It comes with a single player campaign with random, short missions and three multiplayer modes for up to 4 local players. In the single player camapign (additional campaign and arcade modes can be unlocked) you start your fighter plane from an aircraft carrier and fly missions against the enemy. The mission objectives, given to you by your funny commanding officer, are very simple and consist of destroying enemy planes, airships, ships, buildings, soldiers or vehicles. It is also possible to capture enemy airfields. A good pilot can return to the base after a minute in many missions, others take a bit longer. When you are damaged or out of ammo or fuel - just land on the carrier or your land base to repair and refuel. You improve your plane over the course of the campaign, for example with more bombs or tighter turns. The three multiplayer modes consist of deathmatch, deathmatch with powerups, and a co-op mode where you have to shoot down CPU planes. All modes are playable by up to 4 local players, but you can also play with bots. Controlling the game works fine with your thumb and a controller, it is easy to stay in the air unless you are really clumsy. You don't have to learn to fly first, as in Luftrausers or the old Jetstrike from 1993. Fire your guns or your rockets, drop your bombs, boost your speed or slow down, or exit using a parachute - becoming a pilot has never been easier. Even landings can be done automatically, but they are also not difficult if done manually.

It took a while but eventually, I fell in love with Rogue Aces. At first, you think it is just another simple little plane shooter but trying to be a roguelike, Soon you realize it has a really deep rewarding unlock system, Many modes to play, and is so much fun to play. Honestly, the game looks basic and doesn’t seem like it could be anything other than a shooter but it really isn’t and is a game so many people would enjoy so please do check it out, It’s worth adding to your library as the extra multiplayer mode is a ton of fun and works well, the performance is the best yet and this is as the game says, the definitive version and worthy of your time.

Качественный аркадный экшен-рогалик с самолетиком в главной роли. Яркая графика вкупе с веселым геймплеем, основанным на классических леталках-стрелялках. В миссиях дается задание на уничтожение летающих-бегающих-стоящих супостатов-зданий-мясосолдатиков, залетаем-выполняем-возвращаемся на базу,прокачиваем уровень. Самый смак будет в локальном мультиплеере, есть доска лидеров. Управление достаточно отзывчивое даже для таких криворуких,как я. Хорошая аркада, на которую не жалко потраченного времени. Retfa Renrub Update! Wow, this s-h-i-z-z-l-e just get's better and better. You unlock more campaigns, like I mean 'Hard' Island Hopping, Timed (awesomely saved on exit, ofcourse :) ) with different times of day and weather. You will need the weapon unlocks from the easier missions to get through this, but you can grind the awesomeness of the island hopping campaign, ala Carrier Command, if you like learning the hard way (recommended :) ) There's also some other 'Mystery Campaign' that I haven't unlocked yet, but I'll let you know. Also, Try the Demo! Not sure if the Island hopping campaign, is in the demo, but it takes the game to another level! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update! The bug below has already been fixed. Absolutely, Gold! ------------------------------------------------------------ Finally, Gold! ... Years in the making, it's finally perfect, except for one thing. The 'Other Ordance' tutorial is bugged, but just quit the mission, and move on the the next tute. It's no biggie... but do the tutes! Now, onto the goodness. Perfect Arcadia, use can use bots if nobody's on multiplayer, the single player campaign is neat, and 1 awesomely surprising hint. When you eject, if you time it properly, you can jump into and take over an enemy pilot's plane, even in single player. Great voice acting, and tight controls. I used a controller, but will test with mouse right now.... Yep, very nice. intuitive mouse and keyboard controls, too... and customizable.

Old school art, hard game, easy to use controls even with the mouse, might even be easier with the mouse. Controler is ok. You play the tutorial, sandbox campaign and then the Frontline campaign wich unlocks more stuff and you play on a map with islands, each one needing certain objectives to be destroyed, harder and harder.....and also Red baron:) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmwRqcSo1Rg It's a cool game for the price, just remember that it's hard and repetitive...like all NES/SNES games, i would have loved to play this as a kid....even as an adult is fun in short bursts

It's not bad. There are definitely problems with the resolution on 4k monitors. The gameplay is pretty fun and seems reasonably deep. However, the "rogue-like" nature of the game means that none of the missions feel particularly meaningful. Rogue Aces Deluxe is an old school, old fashioned arcade game, this is the kind of game that back in the 90s you would walk into an arcade and spend all your coins on. The basic story is that you have joined a group called the "Rogue Aces" and your job is to the liberate some islands from "The Baron" and his army. You have 3 planes which are basically your 3 lives for a mission, you take off from an aircraft carrier and have to complete short missions, usually be trying to shoot down enemy aircraft in dog fights, bombing enemy buildings and shooting rockets at tanks and other dangers on ground level. Once you have taken out your enemy you can take over their airfield. When you have taken too much damage, or used up your rockets and bombs, or even running low on fuel you just return to your aircraft carrier or a land base if you have captured one, and get fixed up, refuelled or top up your weapons, and before you know it you are back up in the air and taking out the bad guys. As you would expect the missions start pretty easy and get progressively harder. You can control your craft with a mixture of your mouse and the keyboard, or preferably with a controller, I tried both and found that the controller is best, although playing with the keyboard and mouse is perhaps not as hard as you would expect. Taking off from the aircraft carrier is easy, landing however does take some practice, although there is an auto land option, which I embarrassingly have to admit I started to use as the manual landing does take some practice and skill. This game has a few nifty tricks up it's sleeve too, for example if your ship explodes you eject and can parachute to the ground, try to avoid the enemy and survive and while falling you can drop grenades too, but also if you eject you can land in an enemy plane and steal it mid-air! The game also has a multiplayer mode, with up to 4 player local death match modes. In the death match modes there are some fun options whereby you can fire laser beams, use a flame thrower and so on. The Good This is a fun arcade game, that really took me back to my youth, standing in the arcade and spending all of my 10p coins. Their is enough in the game to keep your playing for a while too. Decent music and sound effects, simple controls - a well polished game all in all If you're old enough to remember Choplifter on Colecovision then go ahead and mix in some Return Fire from the 3DO days and you've got yourself a simple back 'n' forth action title. Only complaint is it feels a wee bit too pricey for what it is
