Imagine a horde survival roguelike created by Activision for the Atari 2600. That's "A Priest Walks Into a Graveyard" in a nutshell. Although the game's pretty simple by design, it's easily one of the more addicting (and punishing) games in this subgenre. The presentation is wonderfully retro, the gameplay is straightforward and fun, and the adrenaline rush is real when the game ramps up. It's a blast if need a 5- to 7-minute jolt of dopamine during your day. Although my playtime is pretty slim as of this writing, that will definitely change very soon. Give it a try. I want this game to blow up.
This music has me up in the graveyard at night trying to rave with some corpse girls. People been dying to get in there.
A child receives a christmas present....he unwraps n opens it...inside is the cartridge titeld A priest walks into a graveyard.... Some time later , a priest walks into a burnt home...... Nothing special just another primitive game for lost men by LGV same as bellboy boris https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198120022872/recommended/2528850/ https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3122344312
Прекрасный рогалик про священника, борящегося со всякой нечистью на кладбище посредством крестов и высших сил. Атмосфера соответствует происходящему на экране: жутко, страшно, но круто!
It's pretty fun until about 15 mins in to a run, by that point I was so OP that the only thing I was struggling against was my own tiredness, which was not helped by the extreme slowdown that occurs when the screen gets busy and 1 in game second takes nearly 3 real world seconds. My longest run is listed as 30 mins but it took much longer in real life, and the only reason it's not longer is because I decided to get myself killed so I could go to bed. For the 19p I paid I recommend it but perhaps not at full price.
Too little content for this game to be enjoyable beyond the first 15 minutes, and that's a generous estimate. Any build different from concentrating on upgrades that raise the number, power and speed of the crosses automatically shot by the character is going to be easily overwhelmed by the enemy horde; however, once you do that, the challenge becomes trivial. New enemies and obstacles stop being introduced around Level 20 or so, which was 10 minutes into my run. Such an overpowered build is also the only way to keep a barely acceptable framerate, lest the action slow down to a crawl because of too many enemy sprites on screen. In short, my third attempt ended after 30 minutes simply because I decided to quit. The graphics in Atari 2600 style look cute in screenshot but in motion, the faux scanline effect is terrible.
Think "Faith: The Unholy Trinity" that plays like "Holocure" and that's this game. It's a lot of fun, easy to play, and one of those games that's good to fire up for a quick brain break at work. It's a pretty solid time killer and not a hard game to 100% either.
Шикарный пиксель-арт и олдскульная атмосфера. Игра простая в освоении, но заставляет попотеть, чтобы выжить. Если ищете, во что позалипать на полчаса-час и выбить пару достижений — «A Priest Walks Into a Graveyard» отличный выбор.
Lifechanging experience
A Priest Into The Graveyard grabs your attention at first glance: The visual style is really nice and the sound tries to go for a retro Atari-like vibe… The foundation is clear: pure Vampire Survivors. But something feels off: the best way to play… is not to fight. If you attack, annoying floating objects start appearing and clutter the screen and there's nothing you can do about it because if you touch them, they'll take away almost 90% of your health and you can't dodge it. It’s weird. Really weird. I didn’t totally dislike it. I even put hours into it, mostly trying to understand it. But that doesn’t mean it’s well designed. It has something that keeps you going… but not because it’s good, because you want to figure it out. If you’re looking for something like this, you’re better off going straight to Vampire Survivors or trying alternatives like Karate Survivor. This one… unfortunately, no.
