I bought the game last week, game wasn't properly published (thus unplayable) until I had a chat with Steam Support. That said, here's the review after the game became playable. The Return Home is a game about a rabbit thrown out of its home by lizards for an inexplicable reason and now the rabbit's after revenge. From the time I've spent playing the game, I'd say you can beat this game in about 20 minutes or less. The first half of the game is you just running around on a fetch quest, the second half is a sketchy FPS against the shoddy AI lizards you spent the first half running away from, after which the game just ends out of the blue. The graphics are okay and it's always neat to see some cel-shading. However, several problems arise with broken lighting and other visual effects, causing significant performance lag, especially on the second half of the game. The in-game music is mostly just a semi-repetitive beat akin to certain tracks from the Serious Sam games. The cutscene music is excessively loud in comparison. You can't skip the cutscenes and the options only become available after entering the game itself. In short, despite its low price tag, the game is not currently in a state you'd get much bang for your buck. It'd probably last you longer than a candy bar, but the aftertaste isn't as pleasant. Don't get it. Also, what's up with that completely empty "About" button in the main menu?
Another piece of useless junk. I still had some hopes in the first stage of the gameplay, when you need to collect carrots during the daytime. But then the shooting part at night immediately showed its worst. So, 1/10 mark, totally not recommended.
Spend the first 10 minutes running around collecting carrots and the next 10 minutes fighting lizardmen with a ray-gun. This is an embarrassing mess and feels like a high school student's first project in an introductory game design class.
Моя рекомендация создателям этого шедевра - извиниться и навсегда исчезнуть из пространства и времени вместе с этим нелепым кaлoм. Не надо позориться. Было и было. Никто и не вспомнит об этом позорище через 2 дня.
Garbage. Why even bother? You run around an island area, dodging reptiles and collecting carrots. Later on you can fight those reptiles with a gun.
I'll have to say that it was thoroughly unenjoyable with a really short repetitive music sample. No resolution options (or options menu at all in the main menu, with later in-game options for 3 graphics presets and audio levels (not tested)). You have to run around a few "levels"/islands you can teleport inbetween with portals, try and find all carrots, and apparently then you get a gun. I was missing 6 carrots and didn't feel like combing the islands again.
Wonderfull game, beautifull story, all game aspects are very well-made. Graphics aren't the best but you can easily handle them. Story is cunning, very impressive and brave. Simply one of the best games out here 10/10

Warning: GameGuru Asset Flip!
The Return Home Remastered is a what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" bought the GameGuru first person shooter construction kit (no coding required, it's just a GUI!) and cobbled out a map or two using GameGuru and other stock 3D assets... nothing in this game can fully be called the creation of the developer, and yet they also failed to credit GameGuru or acknowlegde any of the GameGuru assets. They're trying (badly) to pass someone else's work as their own. It's just a bunch of random GameGuru assets dropped around a really lazy, stock textured GameGuru map template. Some effort went into acquiring different assets than the stock Gameguru ones (to some extent) but it still looks like most of this is from the GameGuru asset store. And, another incredible feat of game development, instead of just shooting the various NPC assets on the screen, you have to avoid them and collect carrots instead. This probably added anywhere up to 20 minutes onto the development time for this GameGuru asset flip. This asset flip is so badly done it's even using the default GameGuru launch icons and "options" pages... and let's be clear, GameGuru is a completely godawful construction kit. If you try to take it seriously as a game, you'll find no resolution or graphics tweaks, no controller tweaks... it's horribly optimised and will be sluggish even on high end rigs. You can make the argument that GameGuru exists to just make demos and little experimental games to pass around with friends, but that's not what's happened here... the developer is seriously trying to scam people into paying money for this construction kit copy+paste asset flip. That's not okay! Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the game. But this only happened once, around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards. So, should you buy this GameGuru asset flip? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? The Return Home Remastered is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 11,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.
