Robot Heroes is another of my SG wins, and it's actually a pretty good game. Fully functional, no bugs encountered, an actual story mixed in between a pretty interesting SHMUP with a couple interesting and (as far as what I've played anyway) unique gameplay mechanics, specifically the single cannon with no movement and the way you use robots as both ammo and lives. I haven't finished this one yet as it's the sort of game I will play in 15-20 minute snippets here and there, but I fully expect to wrap this one up at some point. 8 out of 10 so far. The game in few words, destroy one of your keyboard bottons if your not hurt your hand first it's just launching rocket from a hole and you should keep press space (or a botton you choose) only launching rocket to destroy the stuff that falling on you, no moves, nothing, just keep pressing that one botton.
I'll try and stay objective/nice, considering I feel like verbally tearing this game and publisher apart based on my experience so far. Niche indie timing game. You're a stationary base, shooting robots at aliens. Press space bar to shoot, other keys for different robots. If you shoot your own ammunition (robots), your base explodes. If any enemy touches the base it explodes. Sometimes it just explodes because it can explode with none of the aforementioned things happening. Spent roughly an hour sounding like I had Tourette syndrome playing. Came up with some rather interesting insults...so I guess that's something. The only pro is unlimited retries at game over and you don't have to restart the entire level when you die. If you have any sort of mental disability (A.D.H.D., T.B.I., Autism, Schizophrenia/Schizo-effective, reactionary issues of any sort, and/or physical disability in the hands/arms) save yourself the time and frustration. You're only entering a world of robot pain.
Игра запускается в очеееень большом разрешении и не дает его поменять. В итоге на экране только куча окошек с надписью - скоро. И все... Даже не поиграть и не попробовать. =(
mash keys to fire rockets strait up in the air, dont hit the spikes. you have 3 lives but often end up firing all 3 before the first hits and you lose 1/10
Interesting concept, no movement just timing when to fire and deciding which robot types you want to shoot. Boss battles are definitely the best part of the game. I cannot recommend the game after finishing it for one reason, not enough gameplay. Only about half a dozen levels/bosses, which go by quickly. Post completion gameplay exist but was done sloppily. Achievements are tacked on and increased difficulty seems to only increase the speed of the enemies. The theme/story needs some work, I still don't know who the game over alien is or why he's consoling me, or the robot in the title screen, or why there's a western-ish flavor to the artwork. Some nitpicky things, having checkpoints through the individual campaign is nice but this could be clarified in the progress meter on the left, especially since game difficulty is very high throughout the game without any real increase. The game does introduce mechanics as you go but having an 'easier' starter level to get familiar with the controls without dying dozens of times on level one would've made the experience more pleasant.
