(TooHardCore-Not newbie freindly Game very unforgiveable )i would have liked to give a better review on the game the dev is really nice people and they have a good community going but I cant really give it a thubs up yet or a thubms down. but there are a few good things going for road to eden like the concept is cool with the alien stuff and some of the boss mosters look cool on the videos i looked at. the grafics are ok a little outdated but the game is old and there seems like alot do do in the game. that being said though the gamplay is not that good especially when you first start out. Ive played alot of survival games for the past 12 years ir more some with thousands of hours played and this one is not for me i think . I might revisit at a later date if the games gets overhauled i played more than 20 hours and i reached my limit of patiencene for the game and i really tried to give a decent try and played it with my wife . for my own personal opinions the games not too bad though and it looks like when they made it alot of effort was put in but still lacks alot of polish and a good overhaul. but i can see why its its pretty dead for the unfriendly start of the game will put most newbies off and make them give up easily. My honest review of Road To Eden 1.) its not Coop there is no online coop mode in the game at all. the store i page is misleading in that respect and should say multiplayer and single player only So if your looking for easy coop game this is not for you you can make a dedicated private server and play together like that. anf for multiplayer there are like 3 servers all empty. 2.) The gamplay is a bit clancky but its an old game seems like games from like 7 o 8 years ago did and ive played worse though its not that bad though controls take some getting used to. There are a few tutorials online that help a little bit and the guys on the discord channel are very helpfull and nice had a good time chatting with them. 3.) The crafting system is almost impossible. if you do play itll probable take you serveral realtime days or more to craft some simple things like a decent chest to store loot so you cant horde anything at the beginning of the game there is no autostacking that im aware of witch is a pain you have to maually stack everything i played 20 + hours and still cant build much not even a workbench every recipie requies a book witch is cool in theory but some essencials should be available from the get go like easy to make viable starage and a workbench and basic base pieces mabey at the very least one of the big killers of the game for me and probably for alot more people i like to build things but it seens there no light ahead of me after 20 + hours i only made a cross bow and some simple stone tools and stick foundations 1 wall and 1 doorway no door and 2 wicker chest that only have 12 slots. the inventory stystem of the games needs a whole doover its pretty bad .wight system should be balanced more as well or taken out or have the option to disable it or change the linis or something and with all the different types of loot and there are litteraly a mountian of different items you get but you cant keep most untill you get a base and proper starage witch seems almost impossible. If you like hard core unforgiving game this is for you i guess. besides that there a few bugs but thats to be excepted. there should at least be more ini options for playeres to choose from not even there server ini has more a a couple basic options with very little controll over the server. as well as more sigleplayer game options or a difficultly level option or something . But i can see the the maker of the game wanting the game to be as unforgiveing as possible witch a few people out there might enjoy the grafics are not too bad. I would have likeed to see what zone 2 is like someday mabey. 4,) the combat system and character movement are janky the view is kind wierd and takes getting used too you can press contl to change witch shoulder your looking over but its still kinda hard to process sometimes. the combat is kind of wierd and hard on the brain lol most of the animations are not timed too good so sometimes youll fire a shot and see the dicharge a couple of seconds later and the aiming is not that acurate but its playable. the enenemy tracking seemed pretty good. in the begining its probable better to save your bullets the dont do that much damage and its easier to hit them with meelee than the guns since the aiming system is slow and a little off and slow to start firing. but yeah the game really could use a complete overhaul and alot of changes in my opinion are neeed to be done. Also there is a big lack of youtube content for the game its hard to find videos for it but there are a few you can find some in the discord channel of the game. i could go on and on but i just felt the need to let people know what the game experience id like in my opinion not completely unplayable but very unforgiving game that still needs alot of worked and feels like its still in early alfa beta stages and not for me.
GREAT GAME WOULD LOVE TO BE ABL TO MAKEFULL MAP AND IN CREATIVE MODE HAVE THE SAME WORLD NOT JUST AN EMPTY WORLD JUSST TO LERN WHATS ALL THER AND WHATNOT
rubbish just absolute rubbish
The most important thing to say about this game is that is has the potential to be even better than 7 Days to Die. The second most important thing, is that it still needs some more good old fashion TLC from the developer to get there. The Good: The developer obviously put a lot of time and energy into getting the game this far, You can see that they have a real love for the game. There is a solid loot pool. The progression system is well defined and easy to understand. The enemies are numerous and varied enough to keep combat entertaining. The map is pretty large and varied for an independent game. Overall, the graphics are good, and the background graphics are amazing. The game play is easy to pick up. The developer has an official Discord and the community there (to include the developer) has always been available to answer questions and is very responsive. The Bad: The game play is a bit clunky. The animations aren't bad, but definitely need some improvements. Leveling your character (done through skill cards) is easy, but kinda slow. You reach a point (for me, it was about 40 hours in) where the game gets to be real grindy. Technically there is a story, but not effectively. The Ugly: The game hasn't truly been updated in quite some time. Even though the developer is available on DIscord and responsive, it is no secret that they are working on another project instead of perfecting this one. The developer insists that they will return to Road to Eden when that project is done, but (as they would say) "If I had a nickel for every developer that released multiple partial games, but never finished one..." Well, you can imagine the ending to that sentence. The Final Call: If you like 7 Days to Die (or games like that), feel free to check this out. It isl worth the cost. Just be aware that it is an unfinished game (and may remain so), and may be a bit too rough for some people.
So the interface is a bit dated and clunky - but it works . The game lacks a good tutorial which will leave people a little confused but when you get into this game it has depth and interest. Think of Dayz but without the world being super tough. Food is plentiful and crops can be grown so hunger and first are more of a complication than an imperative. Zombies scale as you move away from the start area and whilst the AI is not amazing its good enough. Each of the 80+ special areas have a challenge either from monsters or puzzles or both. Bandits inhabit some of these areas so you need to deal with mindless zombies and gun wielding thugs. Its early access but I do wonder how much more will be done by the small dev team - it feels a complete game but without the polish. I recommend it to anyone who likes DAYZ & Seven Days to Die but does not want the difficulty of Dayz or the repetition of seven days to die.
Jogo com um grande potencial, porém, pesado, muito mato e pouco loot. Com certeza, caso não seja abandonada, chegará no seu 1.0 concorrendo com grandes jogos do gênero.
It is definitely challenging, but if you don't like the easy survival games then this is one to try. It's got a SCUM-like feel but not as intricate. The fighting mechanics still are a bit touchy, but it is still in alpha, so hopefully they're working on it.
