Too hard to beat. Retro games should be a fun way to experience to remember a game you never got to finish. This is not a good retro game. No way l would recommend this game. It is way to hard to beat a boss and not fun. Buy a retro game that has modern options to beat the game.
River City Girls Zero is a really nice game — nostalgic, stylish, and full of charm. The combat is fun and the story keeps you engaged, but I have to admit it’s pretty tough at times. Still, the challenge makes every victory feel rewarding. If you enjoy retro beat ’em ups with personality, this one is definitely worth playing.
It's a good game, yes it's clunky and stuff but if you just want to play a beat' em up and all I can say it's a good experience, can be frustrating though.
Lo Recomiendo 10/10
This game is poooooooop-e. The worst of all the River City/Kunio Kun games that I’ve personally played. The hit stun in this is awful and enemies will just plow through everything you throw at them which is super frustrating. I’m sure there’s a proper way to play this but I just can’t figure it out and don’t feel all that compelled to learn after having completed the game. The motorcycle levels are awesome though and a ton of fun. Every action game should have a motorcycle scene, it’s mandatory. The story is a big positive in this game. Very intense and suspenseful with high stakes. Has a pretty epic ending and final boss too. It’s a shame it was wasted on a mess of a game like this one. I love the lighter hearted tone of the WayForward games but I’d like to see one of the newer ones tackle a plot like this one or just completely remake this one with the River City Girls 2 gameplay. Megan McDuffee returns to do some of the music and she never misses as always. Most of the soundtrack is the original SFC tracks and they’re equally good. Very tense and ominous at some parts which compliments the tone of game. Overall I don’t recommend this unless you can get it for pennies. Very poopy game and I really don’t understand why. It’s not a matter of it aging poorly either, the original River City Ransom was on NES and plays WAAAAAAAAAY better than this. I don’t know if Technōs was just experimenting with something new or what but it is booty cheeks. I’ve played both the Steam and Switch ports, both are fine.
