Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

极度蹩脚的操作体验,射击方向就不能跟随鼠标方向么,边打边左右切方向键,不知道的还以为我在练cs急停呢
I think the game is ok, but im having trouble with controls and control mapping and finding a comfortable way to play. It feels a little clunky no matter what i do. I've tried both keyboard and mouse, just keyboard and controller but it just doesn't feel good to play really imo. Gonna stick with RoR2...

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 25: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I suppose nothing is truly perfect and so really giving anything a 10 should be a rare occasion, if not an impossible one... This is one of those rare occasions for me personally. Oh my goodness... What to say... The short answer is that I 10/10 absolutely freaking LOVE this game. It is a masterpiece and that is an objective fact when considering video games and what they are entirely. The artwork is beautiful and I can really tell what things are like right away I can see I'm fighting lizardfolk for example. That's impressive to accomplish with a pixel game like this. The game looks beautiful on my screen with native 1920x1080 and 144hz... The colors are so beautiful and the game doesn't bother my epilepsy triggers at all which is amazing considering... I cannot play Geometry dash for example because it triggers me too badly. This game didn't trigger me once the entire 1.4 hours I just played straight. I'm about to log back in after this review. I just wanted to put in a good word... The game SOUNDS SO GREAT!!! When a game has a good soundtrack it really matters to me. And I may get sick of it some day. Who knows? I haven't played the game for 100 hours yet... (Key word: "yet...") This is NOT a game that I will be turning the music OFF to listen to my own music or an audiobook while I grind. This is surprisingly a game I'll enjoy paying full attention to, especially the sounds. Maybe later once I've memorized what everything is, THEN I could finally (maybe) turn the music off and listen to something else, but again that would be after like 50-100 hours of playing... I hope the soundtrack is all over the place as far as music genre throughout the game. So far I've heard some metal and electronic stuff, all of which has sounded really great actually. So, I have not been this addicted to a metroidvania game ever first of all... And I have loved quite a few. Especially some of the newer stuff people are doing, but this game... There is something about it that is so addictive that I keep saying "1 more time" over and over and over again. I don't have anything to do today. I think I'm just going to play this all day lol... I literally am in love with it so much I feel like a kid again playing Fatal Rewind* for the first time again wanting to get as far as I possibly can... (*Note about Fatal Rewind: I had SEGA Genesis growing up so we had weird games. We had "metroidvania" style games too, just weird ones like Fatal Rewind where you played as a robot with bipedal legs and you jumped up platforms collecting many different weapon upgrades and armor to progress through different levels full of various enemies which were mostly shapes (literally like triangles, squares, circles) that formed strands of like-kinds and would maneuver in a series of patterns similarly to games like Galactica or Galaga (I think they're called? ...) Where the bugs are flying in rows and swirls around in different patterns while you try to shoot them... Anyways, another huge part of the game that stood out was that there was a timer on each level and liquid would begin to rise... Each level was different and would have different things rising, but it's never a good thing. It was usually acid or lava or something that would kill you pretty quickly lol... It added to the stress of pushing onward quickly...)
I love Risk of Rain, but this one was torture to complete. Still a great game idea and a straight upgrade from Risk of Rain 1 from 2013. Can recomment it, but get used to a long grind and annoying situations.
This is a very specific game that has a fandom and devs appeal only to its fandom and no one else. Risk of rain is great, but this game is too specific and lacks a massive amount of QoL to recommend it. It relies heavily on randomness, rather builds which is more annoying than fun. Also average 1 hour round is just too much and lots of achievements are made by literal sadists. The game flow is bad, and the amount of items in the game is drastically low - most runs in 11h end up being the same in terms of items received randomly, especially the active item. Sure, you can unlock more items, but this does not fix the randomness that ends up giving you the same items most runs. Not great not terrible, experience gets too annoying over time. Sorry.
Risk of Rain was my favorite Jump 'n Run Roguelite when it released in 2013. Risk of Rain Returns is a successful remake of its pre successor. It runs better, looks and navigates better, sounds better and adds new map generation for each stage. Everything is just improved and clean. I love it. Game rules and visuals are even editable so that it works similar to the game you are already used to. It also offers different difficulties for every taste. A new challenge mode offers tricky maps, each with its own specific rules or goals, to unlock new things. When comparing its pricetag to possible fun gametime, I'd say it worth its money without a sale.
I love this game. I might even say this is better than Risk Of Rain 2. The final boss is my favorite boss of ANY game I've ever played. 12/10
I never played the original Risk of Rain so I can't offer a comparison, but Returns is a great rogue-lite with plenty of character options, pickups, enemies and modifiers. I particularly enjoyed the melee focused characters as it requires a bit of finesse to play those characters well. Great soundtrack too!
