Machine Girl album that comes with a game. Couldn't have asked for a better introduction.
I didn't know I needed this game up until I played this game. A game which is so f***ing well designed that you WANT to do better every time. Not because you need to, but because you want to. And the soundtrack is an absolute banger which perfectly blends with the gameplay. The only downside of this game is the cringy dialogs, but it's actually so cringy that it circles back to being ironically funny. So in fact, there's no downside. 10/10 I fully recommend even if you're not a speedrunning junkie. If you are, and you haven't played this game, what are you doing?
Had a complete blast playing this recently. One of those "why did I wait this long?" type feelings. It's a game that is just a hundred little short platform speedruns that is a wonderful combination of fun and challenging. The challenge level gets pretty high especially if you aren't much of a platformer but it's entirely fair. I may never be good enough to beat the final hell rushes (optional stuff that unlocks at the end) but that's not only okay it's a good thing. As for the writing and characters...gonna say two things. 1) If that's your main focus in a game, I don't think you'll like this much. 2) All dialogue is skippable and you just have to press spacebar a few times when the character(s) you can't stand are on screen to get back to the game. It might be intentional that some of them are insufferable because it's supposed to be sinners in hell after all but yikes. My other nitpick is that some of the gift locations were way too hidden. Figuring out how to get to stuff was fun. Figuring out where you're supposed to go was not. I would have loved to see an option to ping them after you ace a level or something. But those minor quibbles aside the gameplay is really good, fun, and challenging. If you're like me and have been sleeping on this you should fix that!
I'm going back to ultrakill since that game was made to feel fast (and be fun) rather than trimming micro seconds in a movement system and physics covered in a mud filter. Oh and not listening to the most insufferable characters ever written is a bonus
as a genji player in 2016 this game is very important to me
Pretty good. Dialogues were pretty fun because the characters are really vibrant. The story itself is kinda dumb because of the meta-physical aspects but the conversation topics were very enjoyable. Gameplay wise top notch, don't have much to say about it. Really great character and dialogue writing, the kind I don't expect from games.
If you're expecting this game to be something similar to ULTRAKILL, just like I was, you might want to rethink about it. This game is actually a time-trial platformer built around trial and error. The goal is to shave off every possible millisecond from your run to get the highest score. That's fun if you enjoy improving your own times. My biggest issue is that there's basically one "correct" route to get the best score, so there's not much room to be creative. The good thing is that the game lets you fast-forward through all the dialogue, so you can jump straight back into the challenges. It's a fun game, indeed, but it may not be for everyone.
This game is legitimately my favorite game ever it is so much fun and worth every moment of your time. The gameplay makes my dopamine receptors fire at mock 20 and the soundtrack is top notch. The story is nothing to write home about but who cares when the game is so good. I have bought this game 5 times, 4 times for my friends, some of them are addicted to it, some of them didn't feel that much of a connection, but all of them enjoyed their time with the game. Don't worry though, you don't need 4 friends to play the game with, the game is single player anyway, and my first 60 hours where all played alone, the in game leaderboards are more than enough to keep you motivated. The game also runs very smoothly on my device, and I doubt it would struggle to run on lower powered devices than mine, however if your device does struggle you can always return it because steam is AWESOME and it comes at no cost to you. This game is 100% worth the time and money, I reccomend
This is a fast-paced first-person action game that combines shooting, platforming, and speedrunning into a unique experience built around movement and precision. It rewards quick thinking and constant improvement, turning every level into a challenge of finding the fastest and most efficient way to reach the finish line. The biggest strength is the gameplay. The card-based weapon system adds a creative twist, allowing weapons to be used for both attacking enemies and gaining movement abilities. This creates a constant flow of decisions, where every jump, shot, and ability use matters. The controls feel incredibly responsive, making it satisfying to replay levels and improve your times. The level design is another major highlight. Each stage is short, focused, and designed around experimentation. The game encourages players to replay sections, discover shortcuts, and master the mechanics rather than simply complete objectives. The challenge comes from competing against your own performance, which gives the game a highly addictive quality. However, the experience is not perfect. The story and dialogue have a very specific style that can be hit or miss, and some players may find the characters overly exaggerated. The constant focus on speed and optimization may also feel repetitive for those who prefer slower, more traditional action games. Overall, this is an incredibly polished and creative action game that delivers a fresh take on the first-person genre. Its combination of speed, precision, and clever mechanics makes every improvement feel rewarding. It may not appeal to everyone, but for players who enjoy fast movement and mastering challenging levels, it is an outstanding experience.
This game is actually a 12/10 personally for me. Incredible gameplay loop, aesthetic, soundtrack, everything. Each level is at first its own puzzle before becoming one of the thrilling time attack games ever. This game is actually peak.
