A brutal godlike village sim that melds the god game, management, and tower defense genres! Fight off hoards of monsters at night, and expand your village in the day time. Inspired by games like Black and White, Rimworld, and Dwarf Fortress but not quite like any of them.

Decent god simulator, similiar to they are bilions in gameplay. Player gets launched into pixel world and must build a prospering village, using building priority, god spells, organising work and jobs, building defences and facing natural disasters. after 23h i unlocked 29% of achievements, although i think it will take approx 100h to unlock them all.
Rise to Ruins is a cool mixture of different genres including god game, tower defense, RTS, and colony simulator with simple graphics and a lot of interesting systems. Admittedly the UI is a bit awkward, and the game is definitely rough around the edges, but there were enough interesting ideas to keep me entertained for quite a while. The gameplay requires you to build up your colony during the day and fend off attacks at night, and you try to push back against the corruption creeping across the land. Most of your early colonies will probably fail, but as you learn more, every colony will get a little further than the last. I was rather surprised that the corruption is actually like a computer controlled player on the other side of the map, which makes it feel more like an RTS in ways instead of just a tower defense game. There are a lot of ideas in this game that don't always mesh together well, but it is definitely interesting. I think it's worth a look if you enjoy oddball indie games.

I feel like I understand the reason for this game's naming after playing a bit of it. Kind of fun, but I feel the balance is poor mid-game onward. You are pretty much forced to have ice defensive towers because of stupid elementals.
Really fun game! Enjoy the mangement aspects and it has enough balance of minor tweaks and being able to sit back and let the game run if thats your style.
游戏机制让人眼前一亮,游戏寿命在同类游戏中略短。
The game feels like a mixture of both Rimworld and Dwarf Fortress. It can be a bit buggy sometimes, and the positioning of some options aren't that intuitive, hence I needed to get used to the UI, but once you learn the ropes, everything becomes easier for ya. You kinda know how to play after the first 3hrs and I recommend to check the wiki to check how many diffrent weird stuff works. Definitely recommend it!
The underlying game is quite good, but I find its very faffy in a few ways which could probably be fixed or improved in some way in the future, or maybe I am just an idiot. To give a few examples: - When you start off there is a lot to take in, and some buildings say they need another building, but you need to manually go find the building in the various menus and build it, it would be handy if you could click something on the building with the requirement that would automatically bring up the menu to build the other building. - Your range/influence can be cut off by walls, but this can cause some problems when you are trying to create defenses as you may want to wall off one of your towers with a gate to allow access, but if this is near other walls it often just wont build as it says its out of range as the walls have somehow cut off your ability to build there, even if your villagers can access there and you have a great deal more range outside of the walls. - Some mechanics are not entirely clear straight off like you may wonder why you are not getting water even though you have built a water purifier near water, but turns out you need to HARVEST water, and nothing really indicated that on the water buildings. - its unclear how you push back corruption, turns out you just need to build towards it and your buildings push it back. Anyway overall its a good game but every hour or so I will find something annoying and then have to work around it or do something silly to try and achieve what I want, which is why I left this review as its a good game but marred with oddities that just get in the way of having fun at some points.
This game is fun, I certainly got my money's worth out of it. So take the following more as yet untapped potential rather than critique: There is still little point in venturing beyond your initial region. All you can do you will do on your first map. The ever increasing strength of enemy waves on one side and the limited building slots and upgrade capability on the other side puts a hard time limit on any match and since corruption (gaining of enemy ground) is now partially permanent there is no longer an option to win. The best you could do is to send some of your population and resources to an adjacent region in order to start all over again. But as I stated before there is really no point to it. No way to regain lost territory or new mechanics or scenarios, just more of the same on a different map.
Very fun colony building and survival. The defense/monster fighting is fun, as is the general colony growth. Plus a big update just happened!
really good game, so chill and good price for the game, maybe to good price. i hope more people will see games like this and support the small dev team. more people reallly need to try this game
