I enjoyed the credit song. :))
A fun and easy 5-hour tactical romp. I wish the main character had been actually evil and doing evil things. Oh well, still a lovely game.
super fun
such a sweet sweet game, i really enjoyed playing my first run, and im anxious to start a newgame+, it has a nice roguelike feeling, compact and with some simple but well placed story, and considerably well balanced too!, i like strategy games but im not a big strategist myself, and i was able to get a full run on my second attempt when thinking better of which path and upgrade to take, overall, i recommend!!! and id love to see a second game following the essence of this one, it has a special place in my heart ^^
A neat little game that is worth the price, currently going for 6$. Expect to get maybe 3 hrs of content to beat the game and if you like run it again to see some variations in minions and abilities.
Reverse crawl is a turn based strategy RPG where you fight in a grid system. The gimmick was supposed to be that you are the "bad guy" defeating the heroes, but it kind of loses the plot mid-way as the good guys are actually the bad guys and you are in fact trying to bring peace to the land (etc etc). Questionable plot aside, the game is reasonably balanced where each battle takes a bit of thought. With the talent point system there are lots of viable strategies. Each run is somewhat randomized so you can do a few playthroughs and still see new units, spells and such. For achievement hunters, it takes 8-10 hours and will take multiple playthroughs as many achievements require you to pick different options at the scripted story events. Each run takes around 3-4 hours so it's overall fairly easy. Overall 7/10. Not a ton of depth, but a decent short game to scratch a SRPG itch.
Had this game gathering dust in my library for years, then gave it a spin yesterday night, and it was quite fun. Playthrough took about 5 hours.
I started playing this a few years ago, and I am not sure why I quit before the end--I probably got busy with work. I came back, started over, and finished it in just under 8 hours. It was a good short game. The game play is relaxing and enjoyable., the art work is suitable, the characters are entertaining--I was cheering for them, and the story was nothing special and yet good enough that I wanted to complete it. The price is reasonable and there are various choices that both change the progress and the outcome of the game. Furthermore, there is an endless more, although I have not tried it yet. So, if you are interested in a casual, turn-based, fantasy RPG with moderate replayability at a good price, this is your game!
