We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.

Reviews
Returnal was a surprise hit. Third person bullet hell has sort of been a thing in popular games already, such as in the original Nier, but the pacing and scale of Nier's implementation did not come close to that of Returnal. Returnal shares some DNA with the nuDoom games in how both are, through their gameplay and strong enemy placement, able to invoke satisfaction from simply playing. Neither need fantastically complex strategies or fancy puzzles. They instead get by with pure pace and simple weapon combinations, demanding high skill from the player. The joy comes from beating these challenges, and Returnal thankfully avoids the common pitfall of failing to obey it own rules. It's a consistent experience, Returnal is somewhat difficult to write about due to this. The narrative itself is an esoteric mystery and relies heavily on mythological archetypes. It's never quite clear or obvious on what's going on. The gameplay, meanwhile, is mechanically simple but demands skill and complexity to complete it gracefully. Returnal remains unique and worth experiencing, certainly so if you appreciate demanding and fast=paced games.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 28: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

very intriguing story, gameplay is very fast, fun and hard. Only downside is that is too short :( amazing
Super good. Criminally overlooked.
Amazing, heavily recommended just for sound design and gameplay alone, worldbuilding is also great.
It's a fun rogue-lite if you have a computer up to running it. My previous laptop had lots of issues on it so I didn't try it again for ages until recently, but I just played a few hours in co-op with a friend on my newer computer (built just before the PC part shortages last September), and it played great. The combat is fun and engaging, the environments are beautiful, and things get mixed up enough between runs. It might get boring later on but overall this game has a lot of quality and especially if you know someone to play with I highly recommend giving it a shot. Maybe not at $60 though.
The movement is so smooth in this game! So many games don't get this right and Returnal does it extremely well. Just the feel of controlling your character is excellent. I'm usually not too into Roguelike games but I'm having a lot of fun with this one. When I first started, I went into it with the mindset that I wasn't trying to beat it right away. I was just trying to learn all the mechanics, the upgrades, the buffs, the debuffs, the movement, testing guns. It's all been thoroughly enjoyable. It's tough but it certainly gets easier (maybe not easy, but easier) the more you get the hang of it and figure out which weapons you like and what perks you want on you and your weapons. I think I'm just about to enter the 3rd biome. This makes me wish Housemarque's newest game, Saros had launched on Steam on Day 1. Sony Playstation, instead of backing out of the PC market, needs to start releasing their games on Day 1 on Steam so we can give them our money. They're making the mistake of releasing *some* of their games on PC, but 2 years after the initial launch and keeping them priced as if they're brand new.
Great game got addicted couldn't stop playing finally finished it
