I was really excited to get another S.T.A.L.K.E.R. like VR game. After playing Into The Radius (an amazing game by the way) this feels bad. I'm sorry but this studio is going to have to try a lot harder. May be I will check back in a couple of months to see if things have improved.
After 'Shadows of Kurgansk' we can now experience a similar experience via 'Return To Kurgansk', which by the way can be done completely in Virtual Reality! Watch my first gameplay here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kqhwn43lcs A VR survival action game where you have to fight against various monsters/undead, but also against humans, some other survivors. The surroundings handsome low-poly graphics with the occasional comic book style, you will engage in conversations with others as you explore who provide objectives that you need to complete, after you have done this you can continue in the game, but at the start of the game you will also learn how everything works. You will also learn that you have to craft to take care of certain items that you will then need especially to defend yourself, to craft you then need other items that you can find all around you in the area.
I didnt play long but Just get Into the radius
👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑

Follow Main group
Follow Second group
English: ----------------------------------> Return to Kurgansk by Yadon Studio is a survival action adventure in which you fight against surviving humans and evil monsters. What can I say, the game is quite good from the idea. It reminds of Into the Radius, of course, but has a completely different story. Apart from that, Return to Kurgansk also looks terrible. Even though the comic style of the inventory and the story texts are good, the intro as a comic, is also well done, but the general graphic style is incredibly dull and repetitive. This is not even made up for by the words that are faded in like in a comic. After only a few minutes, you're standing there bored and thinking, Too bad chocolate. The few objects that liven up the scenario are covered in muddy textures and all look like assets we've seen a thousand times before. You're already disappointed after just a few minutes, but then the battle is the point where you think, yeah no, it's clear. One or two times waggle carelessly in the direction of the opponent and he falls down. Bang! On the other hand, the sparsely animated opponents have an interesting melee range and hurt us at a distance of just 2 meters with their bare fists. The physics are unfortunately not the best either, and objects flip through the air if you're not careful. Unfortunately, walls tables etc. have no solid bodies. The sounds, however, are mostly quite coherent and the voice output, which sounds now and then and only during certain scenes, is also well done. Understandable English. Crafting works quite easily, we just have to point our finger at certain places in our survival book. We find loot and resources lying around everywhere. Enemies also lose stuff or we chop wood ourselves, etc. The controls also go well by the hand, unfortunately there is no free rotation only snapturn - how can you forget something like that? Unfortunately, there are also no other settings. The game idea may be successful, the implementation with this very loveless graphics and somewhat loveless control unfortunately not. Survivalists could still have fun, but should definitely wait for a sale. The current full price is way too high. Thumbs down here and an informativ in the short review. 👀Better back to mycurator page. 👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑

Follow Main group
Follow Second group
First off, I'm writing this after playing a free copy I received; so do keep that in mind. Initial dip into the game can be watched here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3spIgANqYI As someone who is getting more and more into Into the Radius, I was intrigued when I saw this pop up earlier in the week (in which I'm writing this). I'd made a mental note to add it to my wishlist and perhaps check it out. So, when I received the offer of a free key, I had to try it! I'm glad I did. It's hard not to draw comparisons with ItR, of course, but I feel the similarities are superficial. There's a lot to like here that's different. The comic-book look to the graphics works really well and gives it a distinctive tone, the sound effects are at times creepy and others just plain amusing (in a good way in both cases). The crafting system, while I haven't got deeply into it yet, feels like it'll be a fun mechanic too. I went in blind and I had a lot of fun, just in the first hour, all of which was spent in the tutorial and the initial area (which is obviously designed to get you used to the game). I've come away from my first session actively wanting to play more of this, to see where it goes, and also wanting to see where the game will develop. However... there are things I'm not keen on: The inability to mute the music in the menu; the fact that there's no smooth turn option (that one is a *real* annoyance -- I hate snap turn and I can't think why any game wouldn't have smooth as an option); no option for using hand-direction movement rather than head-direction; weird physics/hit boxes on some things that you look like you should be able to walk through/under/up-to; ambiguous language in the "notes" for the early quests; the tutorial text not always matching the actual in-world prompts and buttons; the voice acting and the text not always matching; etc... Pretty much all of those negatives are small, and I would imagine fairly easy to fix; few take away from the game really. I'd say the only two things that properly spoil the experience for me are the lack of smooth turn and the lack of alternative locomotion direction options. As for do I recommend this game? I'm one of those folk who'll happily welcome a less-than-perfect VR game which, if it wasn't in VR, I'd not give a second glance. This is one of those games. I seriously doubt I'd play any more if it was a 2D game; as a VR game... aye, you've got my interest, I will be playing more. If I'd bought this I'd have been happy with my purchase. I hope it keeps developing.
Okay game & has potential but needs work. I liked the looting but the dev needs to work on some bugs. This has a great start could be something truly awesome but for now not so. The weapons don't feel all that great most ppl in vr want to do everything they can to make weapon work. not just put mag next to mag slot. Shooting feels okay the comic book words are charming when hitting objects. >DEV's< I don't hate the game but will need to wait to see how it is in 6 months p.s. Please add more game settings and smooth turn is way way to slow vignette is also perma active for some reason when smooth turn is on. The game looks pretty great on my 1070sc @80Hz The Devs did a fantastic job with base settings, I have no fuzzy images like i get with ITR"s AA This is a PC title not your Quest Version bring on the setting boss! :) p.p.s. wish the best of luck to Yadon Studio's EDIT: After playing for a bit longer I've decided to switch from Negative to Positive. I'm enjoying the game play loop the looting is pretty fun I do wish it was a truly open world..Unfortunately its cut off like Into The Radius. you can compare this to that ITR is based on realism.
