FUN
super game 10/10
I made a video store that eventually only sold kid and adult films. It just felt right.
its easy to play and figure out i love that i can change one of the channels to something of my choosing. it does take a lil while to fully level up but as of rn theres only 24 levels. each level unlocks something and you can add-on to your store which is great!(i didn't figure that out until i had a literal maze of a store and a huge pile of movies in the back lol)
The atmosphere of the game is simply incredible. I just wish you could change the look of the equipment such as the snack or concessions stand.
GOAT
Added this to my wishlist a while back and forgot about it. Suddenly had the urge to buy it after binging "Stranger Things".
English Retro Rewind is one of those games that always gives you a reason to come back. Even after ending a session, I often felt like reopening the store, improving the layout, increasing the profits and watching the business slowly grow. The management system is easy to understand, but the progression still feels rewarding. Store customization offers a good number of options and allows you to create a fairly personal video rental shop. I would, however, like to see more statistics added in the future, such as the total profit generated by each individual movie. That would make the management side even more interesting. I also enjoyed the changing seasons and special events such as Christmas and Halloween, which give the store a different atmosphere and add some welcome variety. As the business grows, you can hire two employees, with the second one becoming available at level 20. Graphically, the game is acceptable and does what it needs to do, although visuals are not the main reason to keep playing. Its real strength is the gameplay and that constant feeling of wanting to make one more improvement before stopping. For anyone who remembers the days of renting VHS tapes, Retro Rewind also brings back plenty of memories. Walking into a video store, looking at all the covers and choosing a movie belonged to a different time. And many of us probably thought at least once about how nice it would be to own a store like that. This game finally lets you experience it, even if only virtually.
