Tento sedmý díl byl očekávaný se zajímavými spekulacemi po tom, co Capcom vydal svůj šestý díl, na který fanoušci a hráči nebyli zrovna moc nadšený, i přesto tuhle hru udělali a stala se naprostou záchranou celé série a zatím dle všeho doposud nejstrašidelnějším dílem celé série a že s nimi souhlasím. Hra se nijak neposouvá v příběhu postav, které jsou vyloženě ikonou, ale dostáváte se do příběhu hlavní postavy Ethana Winterse, kterýmu se ztratí záhadou jeho žena, která mu poslala vzkaz v podobě videozáznamu, ve kterým mu říká, že mu lhala, ale ať se drží dál. Po třech letech Ethan dostal vzkaz od Mii, který poslala ze vzdálené Louisiany v Dulvey, a v němž píše "Přijd si pro mě." Ethan jakožto její muž nasedá do svého auta a jede na místo, ze kterého mu tento dopis psala. Opravdu si myslím, že to bylo natolik strašidelné, že jsem chvilkama až stál na místě a hledal jakýkoliv zásoby v místech, kde jsem byl 5x než abych šel dál, kdy na mě čekal kdokoliv a vzpomínka na některé místa, události a lokace ve mně zanechala pocit, že jsem se tehdy nejenom bál, ale fakt jsem si připadal jak kdybych tam byl. Skvělá atmosféra, skvělá lokace, fantastický soundtracky, a rozhodně puzzle, který se vrátili a rozhodně zanechali člověka myslet. Tímhle dílem jsem vlastně celý Resident Evil i začal, ačkoliv původně bych měl začínat chronologicky, rozhodně ničemu neuškodí, že tenhle si zahrajete první. A jsem i rád, že jsem tak učinil.

Sinceramente melhor jogo da franquia no quesito "Survival Horror", já que do RE4, RE5, RE6 e RE9 (em partes), os jogos seguiram mais o estilo de ação que o estilo de terror que começou na trilogia original e alguns outros. Como primeira experiencia, não jogue! Esse jogo ser tão bom em um estilo específico que os jogos atuais já estão querendo se afastar novamente, vai lhe causar uma falta de jogos neste estilo, principalmente se você não quiser jogar os originais e sim os remakes.
