Absolute must play for any Lovecraft / Cosmic horror fan. This is one of the most accurate representations of that genre yet and I desperately hope they make more in the series!
super awesome game so far!
Excellent little adventure game.
Really good atmospheric adventure, with good puzzles, interesting plot and nostalgic retro artstyle. Great hint system.
~ Around 4 hours playtime (Steam might not have registered it correctly) Nice little adventure with great 1992 Alone In the Dark-like visuals and very sweet puzzle design, just enough to make your brains works without being too nonsensical, and an interesting time-travel story that just makes you want to read more about it (The Shadow Out of Time is a good start). Great worldbuilding too with a love for details like the pirates backstory and the Yith era. It was so good experiencing the Yithian city life exploring the city, taking public transportation and playing double agent to scratch beneath the surface of the main story, I didn't expect the time travel elements to be so in-depth, and the callbacks to the original story were nicely implemented. I liked the main character and her cute little animations, all the aliens looked interesting and faithful to the source material (that running animation for the Yith is just perfect). The only thing holding the game back is its clunky controls, interacting with the world was often a struggle, a more streamlined controller support would have made the experience more approachable but I still really enjoyed the experience. I feel like I need to reload some saves to tie up some loose ends. Pros : - Nice old school Alone in the Dark-like visuals - Good puzzle design, always clever and contextualized - The back and forth to decipher the cuneiform, great idea - Surprisingly good writing, especially that slightly hidden double-agent part - Good playtime for the low price - Playing and exploring as a Yith, oh yeah Cons : - The mouse only controls are tiring and unresponsive, please add gamepad - Sometimes just a tad too dark for my eyes, even with the phone light - I feel like the lying stuff should lead to a true/bad ending? - I wish I could visit every Yithian city!
