I estimate at least 1.5hr, if not more, of my 2hr 43 min playthrough were those BLOODY PUZZLES!!! Literally the last 30 minutes were big jigsaw/slide the bar to form the image/move the tiles puzzles...and that's with me waiting out the skip puzzle button for the last 2 of them. Having one in between HOS' was one thing but having the ending of the game be more than half hour of JUST puzzles is bull! Also it was trying too hard to be scary and fell short of the mark. Also, why was Rose locked up with the criminally insane in the first place? She was like 5-6 y.o in the first game, what the hell were her parents thinking?!
I was not a big fan of this hidden object game. I liked the layout of the map but I did not like the art and theme.
same with this one as the last one wth this is so crap glad i got it in a bundle and didnt pay much for them dont waste your money horrible games others might like them but not for me
This was mostly fun, but the lack of variety in the puzzles made the game tedious towards the end. I prefer HO games with a variety of puzzle types, and actually ended up skipping the last few jigsaw puzzles. I liked the hint system where you collect magnifying glasses in the different scenes to get more hints available. Not that you need much of them in a game as easy as this, but they are useful in the HO scenes when you just cannot find the last item. The story is very typical for these games, with a mad scientist who must be stopped, but who buys HO games for the story anyway? I paid €1.54 for this as a bundle deal (had the previous game) and it's worth that as it gives you one night of gameplay.
This is a run of the mill hidden object/puzzle game where you click around the screen to solve puzzles. There's a quirky horror/asylumn theme. Despite being released in 2018 on Steam, there's no widescreen support, the game displays in 4:3 stretched. Impossible to recommend. Players who want a good hidden object puzzle game should play one of dozens of others on Steam with 16:9 support. What were they thinking?
The second part of the Redrum Puzzle game is darker. Puzzles are better, the artworks are delightfully creepy and there is an entertaining plot. All mistakes from part one have been erased. The only negative i can say it ends with a cliffhanger that has never been resolved.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane HOG that pushes the aesthetic from the first game even further. Some of the most beautifully ugly scenes I've ever seen in one of these types of games. I wish more HOGs were like this instead of harlequin romance paint style. Most of the minigames are pretty solid, too.
not a HOG gal, but i can say the gameplay is a step up from the first, with more types of puzzles, a simple navigable area typical of HOGs, and an item system. still the creme de la creme for me is the visuals and story. its a bit more gruesome than the first, in turn a lot of the victims are a hell of a lot less sympathetic though. the series ends here without the third game ever being released, so brace yourself for a downer ending cliffhanger combo + another interesting game for those who like the macabre ~ i imagine this would be pretty typical to a HOG fan, with its crowning feature being the themes - overpriced for 2-4 hours of content. wait for a sale or bundle
