Redemption Cemetery 5: Bitter Frost (IHOG or Match-3 Adventure) This is a standalone story Options include separate sliders for Music, SFX and Voices, Full-screen, Widescreen and Custom Cursor. Three Difficulties to choose from, or you can go with Custom Mode. Can be changed at any time. Story: Wenonah, the Spirit of Cold, had feelings for the Owl Spirit, Koturi, but her feelings were not returned. When Koturi fell in love with your ultimate grandmother, he gave up his immortality to marry her. Wenoah's rage knew no bounds, and this Christmas Eve she will finally enact her revenge by killing off your ancestors to make sure that YOU will never be born! The spirit of Koturi was able to freeze time, temporarily saving your life, but it's up to you to save your ancestors... and yourself! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1939598684 We do have a Journal, but each of the three segments is pretty nicely encapsulated, so you probably won't need the story reminders. Gameplay: Bitter Cold takes the usual Redemption Cemetery formula and changes it by having you save the living, rather than helping the dead. As usual we will visit three distinctly different eras during our journey. Be on the lookout for Collectible Snowflakes as you play. The MAP is only semi-useful, as the areas where we have actions to complete are shown even if we can't do anything there right that moment. The insta-transport is of course very helpful, but if you need help, the directional HINT is likely going to be your best bet. Hidden Object Scenes vary in type, and although you will revisit each scene once, the items you found previously will stay gone. If you don't feel like doing HOS, you can switch to Match-3 mode... Although this is like no M3 I've ever seen before! Once you make a few matches, one of the pieces will start to glow. Match that piece to remove one item that needs to be found. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1939599509 The Mini-games are nicely-varied, and many have the option of completing them in Casual or Hard mode. Sights and Sounds: I was really impressed to hear actual, appropriate emotion from the voice actors -- they did a great job (although the narrator seemed a bit too chipper). Visually there are some stunningly gorgeous scenes and I like the character design. CE Content:

Integrated Strategy Guide
Bonus Chapter
Collectible Snowflakes - purchase decorates for your snow globe!
In-game Achievements
7 Wallpapers (including one of my favorite scenes!)
10 Concept Art
35 Cutscenes
5 Screensavers
4 Music Tracks
18 Mini-games
11 Hidden Object Scenes
Bonus Chapter: A postman's carriage slipped into the river, and he cannot rest until the packages and letters in his care are delivered. The extra chapter does not involve any of the characters from the main game (except you), but there are a few familiar scenes along with some all-new areas. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1940978781 Verdict: The visuals immediately drew me in, and the main goal of saving your ancestors ties the separate stories -- and the simultaneous Christmas and Native American themes -- together beautifully. All told the game + bonus took me about four and a half hours, and I enjoyed it all. Recommended!

This is a good game on Steam sale. I played another Redemption Cemetery & enjoyed it more. As this is an earlier game I think the newer games may be better as the map was not that good. Still an enjoyable game, great story & relaxing puzzles.
I totally recommend this game and the others in the series. The stories that are behind each and every scene are quite interesting. If you, like myself, own the 1000 door series then you will get a great deal of enjoyment out of these games. The replay value is one of the best that I have come across. There is a map, an in-built strategy guide (if needed) and naturally the hint button. Fantastic work devs. Thanx
I'm pretty disappointed with this game overall, but the part that tipped me over to a negative review was the last puzzle of the main game - the gown pieces just refused to go together. I just got fed up with it and skipped it. Sadly it's a running theme with this game - even playing on casual, very little made any sense whatsoever. Either the minigames were too easy or ridiculously convoluted. Did I accidentally switch difficulties during a minigame? Very probably, as there are buttons on the sides allowing you to switch puzzle versions. As far as story goes, I liked the idea behind it but it seemed poorly executed. Some mad ice spirit trying to wipe out your bloodline by altering your past, all the time threatening you with death. I mean what the hell? Talk about redundant threats, if you kill my relatives you kill me anyway. Duh. Other ridiculous plot holes emerge as you try to solve puzzles. I'm guessing around an hour of my time was just running around trying to work out what to do with a full inventory - going to the map screen was useless as it would light up every zone as something you can 'do something' in, even if you currently can't. There is a button on the UI that links an in-game guide, but I was trying my hardest to ignore it. So not only were interactions sometimes very well hidden and inconspicuous, but some actions were needlessly drawn out, considering the urgent nature of some situations, trying to save your relatives. Examples include having a nice long shovel, but not being able to use it to get some bellows out of some rafters, or even just using that same shovel to smash up some ice, or locks. At one point you flat out refuse to carry around a bunch of mushrooms, even though you have a knife. It's funny actually, as the mushrooms get picked with a basket. There are in-game achievements but they suck. After not being allowed to do the last puzzle, I lost interest in any extra chapter, if there was one. For a supposed 'Collector's Edition' it remains very much a throw away game, not worth your time or brainpower.
I can't recommend this. While the story and some puzzles are good, it is boring and frustrating. Most of the time, it's hard to figure out what to do and the game has you running back and forth across the levels for one item again and again. There's no smooth flow or logic to it, and after a while, I was having to use the hints constantly to figure out what to do next. Ignoring some terrible voice acting, there's also an issue where the audio regularly drops during cutscenes. It is not good, I can't recommend it.
