Finished the map now, and I gotta say, the vibe is peak. The horror of loud, intense gunfights with bad visibility has forced me to adapt in ways I remember doing in Far Cry 2. It is still in a buggy state, laggy aswell. But the core of Far Cry 2's Heart of Darkness is here, you will sneak, plan and brutally kill or be killed. Escaping enemy capture was also insanely fun, the knife kills are brutal. love the game
A cooler version of Far Cry 2. I love the bush environments as it's seriously underutilized. So, in the first 15 minutes, I raided two camps, was captured, freed myself, and a fellow ally. Proceeded to takedown two guards (cool takedown moves too), the others started firing. I ran off under heavy fire, where I then get bit by a snake. I stop to heal myself up but I only have a knife and I'm deep behind enemy territory now. For EA, it's a great foundation, and I'll be keeping an eye on this while it gets fleshed out.
Very bare bones at this point but the atmosphere and mechanics are there just needs a little love and support. This is clearly a passion project for the developer and I for one hope it gains some traction. Combat is LOUD, sudden, and intense. If you liked Farcry 2 then this is one to watch.
i genuinely see a lot of potential in this. exited to see how it progresses.

An absolute must play if you are a fan of open world sandbox games where you can take on missions/contracts and go out completing them however you see fit. You have a gorgeous open world that has a old school retro feel to it with day/night cycles and some real screenshot moments at times. The gunplay feels solid and has some weight to it that really bring out the immersion through its quality of animations and sound design. The game is getting consistent updates and is worth the purchase if you are a fan of stealth action open world games similar to STALKER or Far Cry series. <3
Sehr geiles game
at its current state i would unfortunately consider this more of a proof of concept rather than an actual full game, but it does have a lot of potential, my main gripes come from enemy and friendly ai, when they see you they don't even bother to run for cover or really do anything other than run towards you and shoot, so the moment they spot you there is at least 5 dudes magdumping you at the same time, not really fair, not very fun to deal with when stealth is already quite hard (because there is like, no physical cover anywhere), also their vision is a little weird, they can see fairly far away, but since there is no cover on the map, and theres a lot of bushes and their bases are all very close to each other, they end up being hard too see, while spotting you through the bushes, while you're already trying to sneak into a base, making stealth even harder. There are a few other issues, i get some stutters while playing (though optimization issues are common with every game in existence), there is no individual vertical and horizontal sensitivity settings, the guns are extremelly loud and the ui is very hard to actually read. But inspite of all of that, i cannot give this a negative review in good faith, it might be the only game in years trying to replicate the gameplay style and atmosphere that far cry had (especially 2) and its the work of a solo dev, i have only high hopes that my issues are resolved and that this game thrives in the future.
Feels like Far Cry 2.5 can't wait to see how the game looks and feels when finished but so far it's a fun lil sandbox :>
