About
Recettear is the story of an item shop, the girl who lives in it, and the fairy who turned her life upside down. Recette Lemongrass finds herself in charge of an item shop built into her house, in order to pay back a loan her father took and then skipped out on - and Tear, her newfound fairy "companion", won't take no for an answer! As Recette, you have to decide how you'll get your stock - either through playing the markets in town or going out into the wild with an adventuring friend and thrashing beasts until they give up the goodies - how much to sell things for, what the shop should look like, and how to best go about getting the money Tear needs to pay off the loan. If you can't come up with the money... well, hope you like living in a cardboard box.

You can never escape the loan-sharks and your debts, even in anime fantasy world...
a great introduction if you want to open a store in the future
>Payment due on week 1 >Missing ~3,000pix >Some knight talks about Taiyaki (I had one on display) >Put 300% price for joke, but also for easy money >He accepted >YES I'M RICH >Realize that the knight tricked me and just sold me one for that much. He wasn't interested in buying one mine ;_; Yeah, I'm not that good a merchant. I have no idea why I waited so long to buy this game. I have no idea how I didn't start it even though I own it since 2020. It's a great game and maybe there are some flaws but I don't see them right now, I'm just enjoying running a small store. Capitalism, Ho!

Capitalism, ho!
I love being in debt Capitalism, ho!
Capitalism ho!
all time classic
Cute, charming, and satisfying. Really hard to beat the satisfying "ka-ching" when you make a sale. Learning the ins-and-outs of each npc is very fun, old men are easy marks, women haggle harder than men, and so on. If anything I think it's missing a few more npc types. The dungeon content is a little dull, and the selling content is a bit easy to game out, but it's such a fun time that it feels fresh even 18 years after it came out. I rolled credits on my first loop, so I feel like there's a lot I didn't see. I didn't even get a chance to change the decor in my shop yet. I'll probably hop back into the game every once in a while if I feel the urge, but I'm not much of a competitionist, so going for the full item log isn't all too enticing. A pretty easy recommend, especially when it goes on sale.
Capitalism, ho! Its got its jank but still twice the style of its flasher children.
so peak, loved every party of playing this game, managed to pay off my debt in first playthrough, the struggle is indeed real, but atlas CAPITALISM HO!
