As the commander of an immensely powerful star destroyer, you’ll battle pirates, explore anomalies, befriend aliens, scavenge battle wreckage, mine asteroids, and discover artifacts. Choose your path as a roguish do-gooder, crafty space-trader or power-hungry privateer – or maybe a little of each! Buy larger and more powerful craft with your hard-earned credits, and outfit them with a variety of wicked weapons and defenses. Set in a galaxy of fantastic sights, and secrets to be found, Rebel Galaxy is above all a space epic of adventure, exploration, and combat.

The review that got me to try this game was "Black Flag, only with space ships." After 6 hours, I agree, and am enjoying that. It doesn't appear to be too difficult. Start off with low risk missions to get money and buy better weapons and ships. Then, do harder missions for more money to buy better weapons and ships. There doesn't appear to be too much going on with the story so far. But, I am ok. If the rest of the game is like this, then I will likely enjoy playing this while watching TV. If you are looking for intricate ship customizations and in depth story, then this is probably not the game for you. The 90% discount going on right now is fantastic. With discount, the game is $2.

Not fun and frustrating. Missions give you a risk level (low, high, etc) but the actual difficulty is all over the place. You don't know if you have a chance until you get there, and many times the enemies melt you. There is no skill involved, and at least in the beginning you don't have the money to play around with different loadouts. After you explode, you get back to where you last docked, and you ignore the mission.

The last good game these cats put out. :/ I was really hoping they'd expand on the games with better lore and focus on the capital ships. Maybe even making it a true space game instead of a ship sim, but... :( Either way, this game is worth it.

Finally got around playing this one as well, here is my take compared to Outlaw in no particular order. What I liked: - unique visual style aged really well, for some reason this one looks way better - good soundtrack but very few tracks - sassy main character, albeit only self-insert - runs well - hiring mercenaries, similar to companions - the star systems are not as big and there are less of them, just enough - better mission variety - way better story with a proper conclusion - capital ships - more Juno What I disliked: - due to a lack of travel skip it is extremely tedious to go from point A to point B, especially if you follow the intended progression as the best warp engine is considered a late game item - still nothing visually unique about the star systems, all look similar - enemy scaling is way worse and it gets out of hand fast, you either break the game or it breaks you - gameplay taking place only on a single pane makes the gameplay loop extremely tedious after a while - naval style combat Overall I would say it is worth to play at least once.
